Him and Kitching worry me. Needs at least one CB who can actually defend. Woolf has been poor every time I’ve seen him and for me is solidly 4th choice.
I'd agree Woolf hasn't to date been what I'd hoped he would be. He nvr tho gets a run of matches and clearly played very little for Ipswich in his last season there.

Kitch & Thomas partnership has worked to a degree but neither is a complete centre back.

The lad from Hull might be the answer.
No sign that's happening.

I think like GKs good CBs who do their primary job well are in short supply these days but yeah. I think both Thomas and Kitching would benefit from a calmer influence next to them who can organise on the pitch. Assuming we go up I’d be looking for an old head who has been around the block in the PL and some legs next to him.

Time to get back to what we do. Seen BTA might be in training. Doubt he’d be able to start but if so think he’d be a huge boost.

As such if fit would go

Rushworth
MVE - Woolfenden - Kitching - Dasilva
Grimes - Torp
Esse - BTA - EMC
Wright

They'll be up for it, which means that it is even more important that we are. Too often recently we've looked second best when it comes to application and physicality, so it really cannot be the case for this game.

I know we keep hearing that we have a gap at the top, but we have been poor for some time now and that gap has closed. This is the last game for the denial brigade really. We can't keep bargaining with ourselves that it is fine. That gap could be 3 points or less if we lose this.

Go at them from the off and take no prisoners. A lot of players will have had a break so there's little excuse now. Need to see a performance and a result.

Rushworth
MVE Woolf Kitch JDS
Torp Grimes
Esse Rudi EMC
Simms

Potentially strongest bench for some time
Wilson
Lati
Bidders
Eccles
Andrews
Saka
Minny
BTA
Wright

Thomas and Allen still to come back in.

Expecting a poor game with neither side in any real form, them set up to frustrate, and an early KO on a cold, wet day.

Scappy 1-0 win will do.

Mate it will be a cricket score
I don’t think so. I know it's a cliche doing the rounds but you genuinely have some of the best individuals in the league, in Fatawu probably the best honestly, they just can't be arsed. I have a feeling they might be arsed for this one.

There's a ticket on resale for £55...? Jesus Christ, Doug.

View attachment 48246

I got a couple of tickets before this sold out for someone who clearly has never been cos they didn’t have an account to buy their own. When I told them it was £92, they asked “Each?”

Little data point for you there Doug.

Let’s not get too pessimistic about this game ……it might get the crowd jittery & pass to the players .
Just another game , against a “ mid table “ team , nothing more & our home form is excellent .

Win the first and we'll win both. Lose the first and we'll lose both.
Yeah I don’t like saying it but I do think Saturday is a must win.

A comfortable win would be monumental for fans and players in terms of nerves and confidence. A loss would be a bit of a nightmare. All magnified by it being Leicester of course.

I'd go:

Rushworth
MvE Woolf Kitch Dasilva
Eccles Grimes Rudoni
Esse Simms EMC

Wilson, Lati, Bidwell, KKH, Allen, Torp, BTA, YMH, Wright

Considered Lati ahead of Woolf, but I think we need to give him a run of games to see if he gets better.
I'd like to drop Rudoni, but don't expect Torp or BTA to be ready to start yet. Hopefully will be fit enough to do 20mins or so.
YMH a good option to bring off the bench later on.

Leicester were poor v baggies but because they've got quality, albeit seemingly disinterested quality, they managed to conjure up 2 really good goals.

Baggies should have scored more though.
This is the thing.
If they (or even a few more of them than have been previously) decide to turn up, they have more than enough quality to beat us.
A few could be trying to put themselves in the January shop window.
(On the other hand, they may try to not get injured!)

We've hardly set the world in fire against mid/lower table teams though recently have we!
Let alone those that have the quality (all be it currently dormant) that Leicester do.

3-0

This lot are absolutely shite. Just gotta hope Fatawu doesn’t stick 4 top bins from 45 yards out.

That's the team that I would pick but I think we will start with Rudi, although it wouldn't surprise me to see Esse in the 10 role later on in the game.

A fully fit Torp and BTA will make a massive difference and will get us back on track.
Torp never fully recovered from his illness prior to his injury, and now should be fully rested.
Hopefully they will play a part in the Leicester game, but either way, with those 2 fit, and with the new additions we should be ok.

Win the first and we'll win both. Lose the first and we'll lose both.

Was saying to my lad on the walk back to the car yesterday that it's a pity the Millwall game wasn't first. That, in theory, is the easiest of the two. A win in that would have given us confidence going into Leicester.

I have a feeling this board will go into meltdown if we only get a draw against Leicester

Anyone planning a traditional welcoming bed sheet on an overpass for this spirited match?
On their board they're expecting that, but fuck em they're so far behind we should do nothing, they're so insignificant it would really piss them off.
I really didn't like the helicopter shit anyway, disgraceful way to ridicule a man's death.
