Pathetic.

The club up to now has been part of our community however how long that will continue none of us know. As for the history a lot of that is safe don't worry.

My bad

God i hate that expression. Where did it come from?

[h=3]Meaning[/h]My mistake - I'm to blame.
[h=3]Origin[/h]This slang term originated in about 1970. At that time, that is, pre the widespread use of the Internet, slang terms often circulated at street level for many years before being adopted by anyone who felt inclined to write them down. That's clearly not the case any longer of course and any word or phrase that is widely known is dateable quite precisely via website logs.
The first citation in print is C. Wielgus and A. Wolff's, 'Back-in-your-face Guide to Pick-up Basketball', 1986:
"My bad, an expression of contrition uttered after making a bad pass or missing an opponent."

Actually I don't hate ladies football. I've been to see the England Womens team and have been to see Coventry City Ladies matches on several occasions. I went as, whether it existed or not, in my mind being named Coventry City and playing in sky blue connected them to the club I support. Now that link has been broken I won't be going to see them again. You seemed to have missed the point, why is it that when they played at the Ricoh previously games were deliberately scheduled to clash with the mens team with attendance at the game promoted as a means of protesting against SISU? That would seem to be deliberately antagonistic to me, why not play on a day when the mens team didn't have a home game? Did they expect that to improve the relationship? Why did the ladies not play their cup final at the Ricoh, was it because of SISU or because they were quoted an extortionate pitch hire fee? Why can't they play there now? If this new pitch can't cope does that mean all the other local representative games that take place at the Ricoh will be kicked out as well?

It's your 1st and 2nd paragraphs that gets up my nose mate. It makes you look like your left hand doesn't know what your right hand is doing. You've watched England Ladies and Coventry City Ladies a few times...Wow!! That makes what you say in the second paragraph ok does it? The link has been broken?!?! SISU broke the link of Coventry City FC playing for the City of Coventry, when they moved(Not thrown out) of the Ricoh to Northampton. Did you think moving the team away from Coventry wasn't antagonistic then mate? The Ladies team deserved to be backed by CCFC owners but weren't. You give very spurious comparisons Dave. Arsenal, Chelsea, Birmingham, etc, are very proud of their female counterparts and it shows in their backing of their Ladies teams.

So didn't CCFC ladies break the link by moving out of Coventry - and staying out of Coventry?

I don't believe arsenal Birmingham etc. had people associated with the women's teams posting on their fans forums asking them to boycott games and attend the women's games instead did they?

You seem to be making it a lot more complicated than it is. I have been to watch England's Womens team as I support England, I would go again if a game was local to me. I've been to see Coventry City Ladies several times as I support Coventry City. Coventry City Ladies now no longer exist. I don't support Coventry United so I won't be going to see Coventry United Ladies. Not that difficult a concept surely?

At no point have I ever said SISU were right in moving us to Northampton. I was merely pointing out that the board of the womens team deciding to schedule games at the Ricoh directly opposite the mens games at Sixfields and encourage a boycott of the mens game is not a good way to foster a healthy relationship with SISU. In spite of that SISU did not cut off ties with the ladies team. They were featured in the matchday program of every game I attended last year. Its a no win for SISU, can you imagine the outcry on here if TM's budget was cut to fund the womens team?

If you actually start digging into this you will find that some members of the board of Coventry City Ladies have taken a very entrenched SISU out stance which they share with the backers of Coventry United. I suspect that has as much to do with this move as anything. After all how often has a representative of the ladies team come on here telling us they are in financial difficulties and need sponsorship and backing? Don't recall that ever happening, would that not have been a first course of action? If the team was in financial difficultly wouldn't trying to raise funds be sensible? I would say with the anti SISU feeling among the majority of our fanbase the ladies team saying they needed help as SISU weren't supporting them could be a very successful fundraising strategy.

It's a shame that after many years we don't now have a womens team but in the grand scheme of things if you look at the attendances their games drew and the fact they had decided to move out of Coventry anyway its hardly the worst thing to happen to the club in recent years. Maybe one day when we have better owners a new womens side will be launched to represent our club in the womens game.

Here is why the club should rightly disown the women's team;

Wouldn't Arsenal, Birmingham etc. have to be moved 35miles on a whim first for someone associated with the women's team to boycott games and go to the women's game instead?

That's a lame response even by your standards.

If a senior member of an organisation had tried to organise a boycott to deny it revenue would you then try and assist the organisation financially? Yes or no Tony?

It's interesting that some like to continue to bang on about our one season in Northampton yet refuse to criticise Wasps in any way. Infact they even hold them up as a shining example. Fucking idiots.

By 'club' do you mean the current owners and administrators who are merely custodians or the fans who, despite the ups...scrub that, downs and downs support Coventry City Football Club?

Owners will not deal with people who have tried to reduce their revenue - and rightly so.

No ones reduced the clubs revenue more than SISU so how does that work?

So you meant Sisu (or whatever guise they're going under), not the club! The two are very different! They're connected and alas they will be part of the history.

I totally understand your point. However, why did they (CCFCL) do this? (It's rhetorical)

Sisu are the owners and have funded a loss making business for 7 years. How it works is simple.

Director of one business rubbishes another - then the business bleats the other business doesn't offer them financial support when it gets the begging bowl out.

As Sickboy says - your just incapable of answering a question.

Still funny though - carry on if you like.

I will try one more time.

If you owned a business and another tried actively to deny it revenue would you support the other business when it came to you for support?

Go on probe Sick Boy wrong - answer the question instead of making yourself look a complete idiot.

Yes or no?

was there ever a close relationship between CCFC and Coventry City Ladies. Over the years what support have CCFC provided to the ladies team?

If there has been very little, which I suspect id the case, then there is no great loss to either side in breaking any supposed relationship

The modern version of the ladies side has been around since 1991. Originally I believe there was little connection other than in name. Think it was sometime around 2000 that they started working together more, was around the time the ladies team expanded their youth system.

No idea how close that link was in practical terms. I do know that they tried to join the WSL, think that was for the 2014 season and got told they needed to forge a better relationship with the mens side to be admitted to that league. Seems they ignored that advice as that's around the time they were playing games directly opposite the mens side and encouraging a boycott.
