The ‘church’ needs to have open arms. If you’re an influencer who masquerades as a lifelong and diehard Cov fan when you’re not, you’re a fraud. There’s a few lads I went to school with who supported Man U, Chelsea, Man City and so on who are Cov STHs now. If they wanted to pretend that wasn’t the case, that would be annoying.

Ultimately, some of these content creators will monetise their audiences on false pretenses.

A relative took me to Man U v Cov when we won 2-0 in the league cup, her son is a Man U fan first, Cov second. Which is fine because we know the score. I’ve shared a few beers with old schoolmates who supported Top 4 clubs back then, genuinely seem to have come to their senses and they’re good lads. After all, we all do stupid things when we’re young!

When that relative asked if I could get him a spare ticket for Watford… It was a no from me. Even if could’ve got one (I couldn’t) because there’s plenty of Cov fans who missed out.
