If Spionkop's posts are aimed at me, its evident he can't read as he's answered completely different questions and statements to that which I have made.
Sterling, I think the only realistic chance of getting rid of Sisu is by making them see there are alternatives to them.
As any number of fans on here realise they have saddled us with debt, whichever way you go with them. It's a dungeon stone around CCFC.
Of course a phoenix club is not nice to contemplate, I'm a fan of 55 years + now. A very passionate fan I'll add.
As I keep stressing and people like 'Covmark' keep ignoring, is that a proposed phoenix club would be a plan, a strategy. Sisu might change their attitude if they think fans have formed a new club.
I've yet to read anything on SBT that even gets off the blocks in tackling Sisu head on.
A phoenix throws off Sisu, no debt, nothing to do with them anymore.
And I'd wager, there are enough fans who are heartily sick of it all who would go for it. Once the ball starts rolling, others will follow.
I'll stress, it's a plan, a strategy.
I'd prefer the existing club to somehow get free, but not looking likely is it.

There's already alternatives, cov utd, sphinx etc.

For me, it might expedite their decision making - i.e. If they're going to 'kill' the club, I'd be happier if they did it sooner, rather than later, so that I can get on with supporting whatever is left(and if nothing left, then the Phoenix). What is (almost) unbearable, is this dragging on for a couple or more seasons and then withering on the vine :thinking about:IMHO

7 April 2014 "39% said they will never support an AFC/Phoenix."
Dec 2013 survey "23.5% said they would never support a new ‘AFC Coventry’ club".
So support for an AFC/Phoenix has dwindle from 76.5% to 52%....

In the greatest respects, everything that has been done so far hasn't changed SISU's attitude, that includes moving to a stadium that has seen us have our lowest ever league crowds with a huge fall from previous seasons.
Like I've said all along, the end game seems to be for SISU to get the Ricoh on the cheap and make the club more valuable, so they can recoup as much money as possible when they sell it. It seems the logical modus operandi of a hedge fund that bought into a football club looking to make money, failed and now require some sort of exit strategy whilst still getting some sort of £££ back for their investors.
I just can't see how a phoenix club forming would even make SISU have a rethink of their strategy.
Not even the possibility of the REAL CCFC playing at the Ricoh.
And Sisu's brand withering away in Northampton.
And us - the real CCFC playing in Coventry, battling our way back.
Fun and football, remember that?
If Sisu didn't react to the phoenix club, I'd be astonished if they didn't, we'd all have the joy of supporting the true CCFC in our city.
No Sisu debt, no faceless owners.
So, in essence, there are two paths here...
1) Sisu are spooked into proper negotiations because they fear losing a foothold at the Ricoh.
2) Sisu, don't respond. CCFC are reborn in Coventry and begin the battle back. No debt CCFC. Fun and games.
And Sisu's brand withering away in Northampton.
And us - the real CCFC playing in Coventry, battling our way back.
Fun and football, remember that?

1) Like I have said, you would think a drop in attendance of 13k/15k to 1.5k would be enough to spook them but seemingly hasn't;
2) It wouldn't be the same club whichever way you try and paint it, as wonderful as your propaganda sounds.
Like I've always maintained, the only way I'd get behind a phoenix club is an AFC Wimbldeon / Chester FC type story/debacle and I just cannot see that happening with us. Even then, I think I'd probably just become a neutral and give up on football in all honesty. Obviously that's hard to say when the situation hasn't happened yet.

A Phoenix set up in competition to ccfc playing in the 9th/10th tier wouldn't be the 'true' ccfc.

At what point is that no longer true?
I'd agree it's not now, but 5 years time? When we don't see plans for the ground?
Everyone has their breaking point. At some point AFC became Wimbledon and MK ceased to be them. Could be the name change, could be the location, could be when the majority of fans switched (I don't know enough about the situation, maybe all at once).
