I have some concerns about this match, given that we may not be at full strength as there are a few carrying injuries and some will come back from international duty with tired legs, knocks and/or jet lag.

Thankfully we have good squad depth now and I fancy us to shade it 1-0 or 2-1. If we can get 4 points out of Derby and Hull then we really can start to relax as, to be mathematically certain, we will only need a few more points from the remaining five games.

I think we may drop points. Our left side will be disrupted, back to winning ways at Hull and keep the 2PPG ticking over. We know either (possibly both) Middlesbrough or Millwall will drop points. Why aren't Ipswich playing Friday?

1-1.

I'm not confident about friday or monday. But its more that they're teams that usually put a spanner in our works. Derby will spoil and bully, whilst i just don't generally like Hull (they're a side whom i think our record is similar to that we have with preston in recent years)

If we take it in isolation though, we're the best team in the league, we should beat both of these.

Cov 2-0 Derby

Rushworth

van Ewijk - Thomas - Kitching - Dasilva

Grimes - Torp

Sakamoto - Rudoni - BTA

Wright
Think it’ll be a tough game but they’ll lack the forward importance without Szmodics and Agyemang, I think Wright comes back firing and bags both goals as he’ll be hungry to show he deserves a call up for the world cup and to win the golden boot as BTA is on his tail now too!

Unless I've missed something I'd be very surprised if Wright starts or plays at all really?

I know the injury wasn't as bad as feared, but he wouldn't have pulled out the US squad for nothing. And you'd think they will be cautious given the situation and our depth.

players are pulled out of international friendlies all the time. We didn't send him as he needed to rest up. He'll be fine for friday

Nigeria play Jordan tomorrow in Turkey, so unless the tank gets injured he will be in contention.

Im more worried about Lats and EMC making the squad and Wright, Rudoni and BTA getting over injuries. If those 3 are fit to be in the squad then resting EMC and Lats is probably going to happen.

Going to borrow the son’s CP gear for Derby then. Need to look like I can still do something on the streets… albeit in a pair of 9 year olds shorts restricting movement
Now the clarion call has gone out, thought I'd get into a bit of training.
Tried a bit of bouncing around with arms spread to start off with, but agony on the knees. So gritted my teeth, and fixed a grin. Looks fairly intimidating to be fair, but got 30 seconds to a minute of that tops at this age. Thought I'd throw in the 'signature' drawing a finger across the throat and pointing. Turns out my arm/hands start to shake if holding up for any length of time. Speeding it up works. Little depressing, but just need to pick out an 'outfit' and get my crew back together, and I reckon it could get lively on Friday!

We are better than Derby by along way but football doesn't work like that, hopefully we come out full guns blazing. Then another 3 points ticked off.

3 points at home followed by a draw away at Hull then another 3 against Wednesday would do nicely.

I would be thrilled to get 7 points from those matches. We would then have 4 games to get another 3 points to take us to 90, which would almost certainly clinch the title for us. In fact, we might not need any of those final 3 points at all 😊

You need to do it in a live environment…..On Friday…I’m going to point at a random stranger in the away end… and then I’m going point in the general direction of outside followed by me walking aggressively up the steps to the exit. Then because of my age and having had a couple of beers…I’m going to stop for a wee and wait for it all to blow over outside the ground.
