Old Coventry head say Charlton win this last minute
New Coventry head says score early again and it will be a bit of a stroll. All about how the players approach the game, hopefully not thinking they just have to turn up to win.Every game is tough in this Division.
Matty Godden last minute winner and all Cov fans to celebrate doing aeroplanes and lawnmowers

I am expecting a win (I am most games now), but this is a league where anyone can beat anyone on the day and it would be proper Coventry to beat both second place teams and then lose to a team who has conceded 8 in 2 games.
We will lose at some point, but luckily we've done the work so far to allow us a loss or a few draws and keep a gap.
We registered our loss against Wrexham. That's it.

Wish I could shake myself out of the beaten dog state the last few decades supporting Cov has left me in.

Why can't I stop expecting the wheels to fall off?! all stats point to us creaming Charlton on Saturday but still I have a nagging worry about an 'after the lord mayors show' performance. Injuries, complacency among fans, Saints & Ipswich clicking just have me worried. I need to man up I know but I've been conditioned to feel this way!

I honestly think this could prove to be a lot tighter than we think.

Don't get me wrong, I fully expect us to win, but after shipping in so many goals in the last two games, I think Charlton will probably go for a making it hard to break them down stance.

They are never going to win in a slugfest, so I can only see them trying to defend deep in order to try and frustrate us

So a win, but not a pretty one. 1-0 or 2-0 to us.

Of course, if we do score early, then the floodgates may well open, but I do think they may well try to keep it tight and defend deep.

They can try.

We have a lot in our favour for this. They're struggling with injuries, with players either still out of just coming back, and they're not great away from home.

Looking at their stats they're one of the highest in the league for shots conceded but have one of the lowest shot conversion rate %s. They also have one of the lowest shots inside the box %s and lowest av. possession so I suspect they do deploy a low block and try to force opposition teams to shoot from distance. They seem to like to press teams so we need to look to move the ball quickly as we can look uncomfortable when teams look to close us down.

It's probably not going to be a pretty game but if we're relentless as we have been I can't really see us losing.
