Why wouldn’t there be a demand on the play offs next season? Definitely we should be making the play offs in the next one or two seasons

Demands are for Doug to make IMO. What we know from the last seven years is expectation creates disappointment and febrile atmospheres around the club. Appreciation and support leads to players growing in confidence and exceeding our expectations.

We expected more this season and after a poor start people were talking about sacking Robins and selling Wright and Simms for a packet of crisps.

Couldn’t believe the negativity around me today TBH, the two bloke behind me slagging everyone off from kick off like normal but seemed to be a lot more frustration coming through. It was a frustrating game though.
Problem is now we have a lot of new fans who are probably Man City fans looking for a successful club locally to support to show off about so they will be the bedwetter types.
Luton is a great example, look at Kenilworth Road this season. It is like a library and was from day one as all the 'new' wealthier fans suddenly discovered their local team. Leicester had had that problem for 8 years now. The more successful we are, the less of a siege mentality fanbase we have which will quieten the atmosphere

Not getting stressed it happens, Kiching has been great since he arrived. Biggest disappointed was that Norwich lost so an opportunity missed.
we go again 👍😀

Frustrating as we just weren’t at our best today across the most of the team. Sloppiest passing game for a while, trying to force it even when we were winning/drawing…..I’d have been fuming if I was Bidwell first half, bombing forward time after time and then palmer, Thomas and sheaf (and a couple of others) trying to play it through congested areas/groups of Cardiff players. As i say, frustrating !

Surprised about some comments about Eccles, thought he played really well before the two poor passes just before being hooked. Unfortunately that’s what people remember but I thought he was one of our better players overall

A good point made by someone one cwr, if we want to be playing in the Prem then we need to be talking points of teams like Leeds and Southampton so here’s our chance. Still think we’re just a bit short but let’s hope we can keep the fun going a bit longer !
Absolutely right about Eccles

Has anyone mentioned Simms celebration yet? Bet they’ve been on at him in training to get one.

Was it just a misperception on my part or was the team overly devoted to crosses more so than usual? Especially in last 5 or 10 minutes?
Couldn't play through their banks of 5 then 4... We created nothing at all in behind/through the middle. They chucked a wide player with pace out there to deal with Van Ewijk and nullified him (apart from the goal - which was the only decent piece of play from us all game).
Horvarth in goal for them was not tested at all.

We’re 3/4 players short in my opinion, probably too much of an overhaul and as people have said this team is just starting.
Yup

In summer

Out

Godden
Allen
Tavares
Kelly
O hare(unfortunately)

In

Emc
A number 10
Central midfielder X2
2 wingers or 1 winger and 1 striker.

If get recruitment right that could properly use to auto contention

Jus tmy opinion of course

We need a centre back
I was annoyed in the second half at Palmer but looking back on it robins should have seen he was playing poor and took him off miles earlier.

robins has to take just as much blame for keeping him on when the whole crowd knew he should be coming off

what injury has godden got 😂

5 CMs is a lot isn’t it?

I think we need a CB, AM and a RW, and ideally a ST and a CM. Then maybe upgrade at LB if the right player comes available.

We scored , they changed something in their system and we couldn’t handle it.

Their LB had the better of MVE today and would be someone I’d keep an eye on.

How Palmer came out for the second half is beyond me, just wasn’t his day today.

Eccles really good, thought Lati was good in the air and Thomas had some good moments.

Disappointing but not a surprising result. The warning signs were there well before WBA, PNE games.

We have a penchant for going flat for long periods in games (especially when in front) and this often leads to us dropping points where we should have won.

It's partly down to having a small squad, but we have been doing this right from the start of the season. As a squad they are too nice. Need to add some strong characters in there in the summer.

As for the small squad comment, did MR say this today? Don't disagree with him but he hasn't helped matters when bringing on the likes of O Hare/MVE etc in games like Rotherham that were already won.

There's still twists and turns yet so won't count us out but it's still turned out a good season whatever happens in the next few games.

Am I the only one who didn't think Eccles was really good? Not saying he was bad but he didn't strike me as good either. Bit surprised at some of the rave reviews about him today that's all

Add Cardiff to Swansea and Preston (and possibly Hull) as our bogey teams. We don't like teams with big players (size wise) who park the bus. Also, we are always shit on Bank Holiday Monday apparently. Two OG, WTF and a just offside goal for us. Palmer and Milan should have got shots on target when they had a clear shot at goal. On a positive note, Cardiff have more incentive to beat Hull who they play on Saturday.

He had one of his better games.

Oh yeah forgot fadz.

Id like to think we have 3-4m left from gyok hamer sales already let alone money on top from vik moving on from sporting or hopefully Doug king would put a bit of cash in too if needed
Just my opinion but I don't want ANY extra "bit of cash" from any owner, makes it artificial and there needs to be efforts to remain self sustainable even if that is extremely uncommon in this modern era. No dig at you personally, friend.

I mean we are where we were. I thought it was beyond reach this morning and I think the same now. But if you thought we had a chance this morning then we still do.
We need Norwich to lose at least 2 of their last 6 whilst we need to win 6 from our last 7

The last 3 Easter Mondays been rubbish at home. Bournemouth, Watford and today, hopefully playing away next year

But other clubs get a bit of help I'm sure. It's not gonna be Saudi oil levels end of day

Oh, need to add: disappointing result but not gonna give any grief
We average 19 per game. 25 today.

@shepardo01 summarised it well. Cardiff were difficult to break down & forced us into wide areas really.

Yep, before we scored we had acres of space. Afterwards they seemed to have an extra man sitting on Palmer and in that space.

We fucked around with subs for ages and they scored.

I'm reflecting on when an owner suddenly decides to do Jack shit (Reading, for example), plus not having "loans" looming over the account.
Other clubs can do their thing, within the limits of financial rules. Just after all these years of regrettable ownership, I'd like to look forward to a benign but distant owner. I'd like to think we can smash the league on our own talent and management staff next season, good recruitment, good teamwork. Don't want to find us in financial trouble no matter what. We also seem to be doing okay 👍 👌 even with one of the smaller budgets in the league.

I'm a stream of consciousness today, several imbibing sessions after today's result. Lots of love, you shining stars

Glad to see my perceptions weren't wrong.
Would've been fantastic to see Kitching get a redeeming header but oh well, onward etc.

We need to win out game in hand vs Hull and get one more point than them (with goal difference staying the same). That’s all there is to it really. If we’d won and Norwich won today we’d all be happy enough.

we needed a proper physical, tall DM in there today, Cardiff were making countless panicked clearances , that their players got on the end of. We sorted that out by the end of the game but were already 2-1 down by then.
Need that DM to play alongside Sheaf / Torp.
First on the shopping list in the summer for me
