This has been stuck in my head all day so getting it out. When we get “Where were you when you were shit?” To the tune of On Top Of Old Smokey:

We were in Northampton
And we were in Brum
And when City weren’t playing, we were in your mum.

Do with that what you will
Brilliant

We just have a formidable front-loaded team of players who have the quality to score goals. We’re going to score goals even when we don’t play that well.

Thats without even talking about a goalkeeper (who some on here written off instantly) making game changing saves when it matters!

BTA in particular, since getting regular minutes has shown that a bit of confidence helps a player to show qualities we haven’t seen before.

As others have said ‘we got the job done’. Not the best performance; v disjointed first half, front 4 didn’t work as too much space between front players and midfield, passes loose etc. but this is a team that roll its sleeves up and works as a team and together they did what was needed. I bet Lampard as impressed with the result as any this season.

I'm sure Frank played in plenty of games like that. Sometimes you have to wn ugly and get the job done ✔️ All good teams do it.

It took the best part of an hour before Frank Lampard’s Coventry burned off the international break blues.

In fact, the first half against Blackburn Rovers was close. Very close. One of the Rovers’ staff joking with me over a half-time coffee that, “Coventry were holding on”.

It wasn’t quite that. But the hosts took a while to get going.

And yet, once Victor Torp and Brandon Thomas-Asante had fired them into a 2-0 lead, there was no letting up. No shutting up shop. No sitting back and soaking up.

It was delightful to watch – as Coventry continued to push and probe. And, a clear indication as to how the Sky Blues have managed to bag 14 goals in their last four games.

That tactic, on top of five consecutive clean sheets, means the rest of the Championship should have real Coventry concerns.

Looking a much more complete side now, yes a keeper who's making saves, claiming or punching crosses, don't fk about with the distribution. Thomas and Kitch look far more efficient with Grimes to almost marshal them, can't believe how much ground the skipper covers. Had a bit of luck in a lot of games but those clean sheets are incredible.

Yes BTA. Never put my thoughts on paper as they would have been laughed at now, but he's really turned a corner for me. Finally seems to have found his mojo and putting his energy to good use, majestic shot today. So nice to have people at work talking about the City rather than sneering and taking the pss lol.

Brilliant win, great result. Grind the results out and two good goals. Very happy tonight. Sitting pretty at the top.

Come on Portsmouth, put the icing on the cake.

Sign of a quality team that you can grind out, what turned out to be a pretty comfortable win, when not at your best.

Also telling that a team ups there game against you and goes home with 0 points.

Easy to say when you've won but thought the officials were on top of their game today. About time!
True for the most part. There was one really strange throw-in decision in the first half which was very obviously ours and was given to Blackburn. First half was also a bit scrappy, couple of decisions that could’ve been let go that weren’t and ones that could’ve been pulled up that also weren’t. But second half flowed way more and didn’t really notice the officials then.

Seen few comments about atmosphere being flat yesterday, yes it was, but so what!
Game was flat, city were flat, Blackburn spoilt - that’s football! Doesn’t need to be an inquest Into it!

3 points, on to Tuesday!

The simplest retort yesterday would’ve been “where were you when you were good”.

They had attendances of 16k the year they finished 6th in the premier league 🤯

Yeah that was a strange one-down by the corner flag-but it was the assistant that would have obviously given that. Think we also have to say that on the whole both teams wanted to play football and there were no spoiler tactics on view (as per Norwich) which also aids the officials.

Did anyone come back to car park C and find a horrible flyer for incels on their car? Justice for boys and men? Where is best to report this at the club?
