Yeah that was a strange one-down by the corner flag-but it was the assistant that would have obviously given that. Think we also have to say that on the whole both teams wanted to play football and there were no spoiler tactics on view (as per Norwich) which also aids the officials.

Did anyone come back to car park C and find a horrible flyer for incels on their car? Justice for boys and men? Where is best to report this at the club?

Lampard quote after the game - "It's one of the games that makes me happiest.'' We had struggled beforehand but we shut the door after our second goal yesterday and never let Blackburn have a sniff. This ability to control the game is as impressive as anything this season and not something I have seen from us for a very long time. It felt totally secure; fantastic winning mentality and on the pitch clearly driven and led by Grimes.

Wright understandably looked like he was in a different time zone. Simms another very good substitute performance.

Begs the question why we didnt rest Haji and start simms. Surely he's earnt a start when Haji is jet-lagged?

Thought Wright started really brightly but quickly faded. Maybe Simms gets his chanceTuesday?

There was one really strange throw-in decision in the first half which was very obviously ours and was given to Blackburn.

I dare say I know the one you mean, and it led to a chorus of boos. I could see why people thought it was a bad call, but I was pretty close to it and the official (just a few feet from the incident) was dead right. Deceptive, but the ball definitely came off the city player last as it went out.

It really didn’t. Watched the reply. Thomas-Asante played it onto the defenders boot and out. Didn’t ricochet back.

Can't be arsed to find the replay, and it's not worth arguing about, but from my position (pretty close) it very subtly squeezed/brushed off our player. I remember thinking the lino's gonna get slaughtered here and I wasn't wrong

Edit: we may not even be talking about the same incident of course!

Nah, can’t be the same one. The one I’m on about is when BTA was in their corner, tried to play it back down the line and it’s come off the Rover’s player’s foot and out. No other city player near and this didn’t come back towards BTA, so I’m pretty sure it’s a different incident.

I think we have to get used to the idea that we are every team's cup final now, at least until we lose a game or two. And teams can play against us with freedom because they are not going to face major criticism if they lose.

Man United monitor exciting youngster at Championship side

The 16-year-old was named on the first team bench for Saturday's game against Blackburn. It comes after he impressed making his first appearance for the club's U21s earlier this season.

Apparently Man United are looking at stealing Shepherd off us....

Oh bugger. I was talking to my wife about him yesterday... how it was amazing that we had a 16 year old make it to the bench without being collected for a few quid by one of the behemoths. Such is life. The kids want to go, bewitched by fantasies of Beckham-like glamour. Who can blame them? But if it's inevitable I wish the authorities would not allow them to unsettle kids like this and make them pay through the nose to acquire.

The simplest retort yesterday would’ve been “where were you when you were good”.

They had attendances of 16k the year they finished 6th in the premier league

Tough game yesterday, Blackburn definitely came with a game plan. They stopped us being able to engage the crowd which i'm sure their manager would have wanted.
They man marked Grimes out of the game in the first half. Without him being able to come deep to collect and control, we were forced to attempt the longer balls. I know Kitching and Thomas misplaced a few of those but i thought defensively, Thomas was the motm.

I think this was good for us though, as a performance like that from Blackburn stops us from becoming complacent, reminds us we won't be able to just show up and beat anyone.
They came out in the second half and really dug in to get the result, this is what top teams do. Two great goals, so pleased for BTA and Torp showing exactly why we signed him. The best thing is that all of these players have room for even more improvement, top coaches take what they have and get the best out of them, that's what we are seeing. Loving every moment so far this season.
