Well fuck me...that was cold and wet! Just through the door. I don’t envy those with a longer journey home.
Sorry if I’m repeating other posts now...thought we were the better side first half and it looked like Vincenti was at fault for the goal.
Is that right?
An amazing save by Burge and an equally amazing clearance from hyam kept us in it. Thought they were well on top until we scored then felt we could have grabbed a winner.
At the end of the day hypothermia was the winner.
MoM...Lee Burge or Ryan Haynes. That’s right, I said it!

Was a great finish. Took the ball just as it bounced and needs catching perfectly to keep that down.

I like the idea of Biamou as an impact sub more than as starter right now. We should use him in that capacity for the rest of the season.

I definitely think JCH’s arrival will push Biamou’s performances. Competition is only a good thing.

Sat in a pub in Usk. Still soaking wet through!

Hyam and Burge were incredible with their stops today. Shipley and Vincenti were really poor.

Great point looking at it is I don't think we were up for it enough.

Newport is a real shithole by the way.

Straight up. Thought he looked positive...bar a couple of dodgy crosses.
Although, Would probably give Burge the nod. He only managed to kick the ball onto the stand roof, straight from a goal kick, once today! That save was incredible.

To get alcohol so you can celebrate the goal by Biamou?

He cant defend and cant cross so in what sense was he positive?? Burge made 1 good save but dreadful distribution again. Reid changed the game so gets it with hyam for me

It is the business end of the season. Just when Reid pulls his socks up. He should play more now as he will be looking for a new contract.......then get rid.

A good point, don’t think we would have got that 15-20 games ago. Would start Reid over Shipley on Monday

One or two of his kicks werent great but he did a great throw out and didn’t spill anything in what were difficult conditions.
I’ve been a huge critic of Haynes since he got into the team. Have always thought he was only average going forward and a shocking defender.
Today I thought he looked like he used his pace to greater effect and was better on the ball than most. He was also an outlet for others. He showed some skills. If he continues like this I might stop saying he is utter shit.

To be fair if that’s the only time I drank alcohol I’d be in a lot better shape.

Just so a valid comparison can be made you may want to ask yourself how often he is asked to target a man on the touchline from goal kicks or kicks out of his hands

He takes years to decide what to do then kicks it out of play. When he actually rolled it out quickly we had a great chance. So ask yourself why he persists with shit kicks

Because he is waiting for options instructed by his manager which seems to be to target a players head on the touchline

Nice to have him there to change it though, I like him off the bench but would put him on after an hour.

So your guessing thats the instruction then because you love burge? Even if it was robins orders he never finds a man so its still shit.

No I’m guessing it’s the instruction based on watching the games. Just like when Kelly gets criticised for not being further up the pitch, unless he’s instructed to (like the Crewe game) he’s not going to as that’s how the manager wants him to play

I thought the ref let an awful lot go, perhaps because of the conditions.

Newports crowd organisation leaves a lot to be desired, perhaps they thought we were Morecambe and only bringing 18.

My tickets were supposed to be collected from the ticket office, they werent there, then from the Away entrance, they werent there either.

Mised kickoff.

Thought we were the better side, their timewasting was rediculous.

Hope everyone got home safe, saw four accidents on the way back, all just happened, looked like aquaplaning.

Or when Italia was saying McDonald hoofs it too much last week. It doesn’t take a genuis to realise our manager wants to us to play simple with as few risks as possible as our players are not good enough to play out

Agree about the ref. Looked to me like they should have had a booking in the first min, and that a few of their tackles were flying in. I thought one was a sending off.

From my vantage point I could see a huge queue at the turnstile after the game had kicked off. Seemed a bit shambolic.

Caused their defenders more problems than Shipley and has much better technique. Did the same against Barnet when he started so why not.

I take it Waitrose is a long walk - your happy post about Biamou not being able to score more than two a season was at 4.31 - the next response was 1.45 hours later, and then rather than celebrate that we have got a point coming from behind, all you can do is lag off Reid and make another neghative comment about Biamou.
Hope you enjoy whatever it was that you got from Waitrose - bitter lemons, perhaps?

just back and happy with a point. Need to win Monday though.
Not our best performance but it's all about grinding out results.

The criticism of Burge is myopic. His distribution was very poor but apart from that he couldn't have done much more and pulled off that save.

Agreed.

Today he didn't make a mistake that cost us a goal. And he kept us in the game. That will do me.

Just back. We were poor to say the least. Lucky to get a point to be honest. Burge pulled of a worldie to keep us in it. I have no idea how he pulled it off. The only other bit of quality was Reid’s cross to Biamou for the goal.
For me Reid has to start. Made all the difference when he came on.
Pissed down the whole game in a stand with no roof and kiosks didn’t even take cards. 3rd world country Wales.
