The EMC Wright thing will be easy to start with. EMC on for the first 60 to 70 minutes then swap with Wright. When both are up to match fitness I have faith in Lampard to do the right thing.

There's a danger that the afternoon becomes all about the 1st return of Mark Robins to the CBS.

Give him the applause that he so richly deserves before the match and then batter the oatcake munching clayheads and send them back up the M6 pointless.

I think out of respect to his current employers MR won't want a fuss made - Considering the position Stoke are in if we end up giving them a hiding he may well disappear straight down the tunnel

Business as usual at 3pm but if possible he will get a warm round of applause for me after the match

He will get his proper adulation and thank you at some point in the future on a legends day when he isn't in another clubs tracksuit

No, I have to disagree, unfortunately. I think any applause needs to be before the game.

If we decide to do it after, what happens if Stoke beat us 3 or 4 nil?

What happens if it's quite an ugly, bitty game, filled with reckless tackles and shithousing?

It would work if we beat them, but in other scenarios, it would be so much less likely to happen.

I think we get the applause out of the way and then it's game on and we only concentrate on that and nothing else.

The media will be all over this so while they are watching lets make it right and show we are knowledgeable fans that appreciated and respected MR for being a major factor in pulling us out the mire. He deserves this day to show what we thought of him. But 3pm i want 3pts which is no different than any other week.

Be classy, show appreciation of the man but then support the team to get what's needed. MR is a football man and will expect nothing less from us..

The only way he’ll be on the pitch applauding our fans afterwards is if they beat us.

I think people forget that he manages the opposition now.

Saw somebody put that him and Lampard should walk round applauding the fans together after the game. Imagine that after we have just beaten them (or them us) :ROFLMAO:

Winner gets a piggy back from the loser.

If it's a draw, they do the wheelbarrow, swapping with who's the barrow half way round.

It'll add a bit of extra jeopardy to the game.

For me, applause and maybe one rendition of a song at or just before kick off…after that it’s BAU.
Then hopefully after final whistle after we’ve smashed them 4-0 he’ll do a clap to each stand where we also show our appreciation.

I think that would be appropriate.
that’s all we can do I think without it being cringey or disrespectful.

There's no doubt he'll get a fantastic reception before and after the game, and rightly so.

Maybe a song during the game if we're winning fairly comfortably.

I'll definitely give him a round of a pause pre game.
Got to be somewhere after so will be on my toes as soon as the final whistle goes but personally think pre game would suffice.
Whatever happens it will need to be something off the scale to.be more cringey than the hamer corner incident.
I'm dreading a repeat at Bramall Lane.

Maybe he will score a worldie and all of our fans will cheer it?

Much like when McSheffrey scored against us (maybe Doncaster Rovers?) and some of our fans cheered and applauded it. Weird AF.

That is tinpot though.

Mark Robins is a legend, but singing about the opposition manager mid game is just embarrassing. It’s arguably disrespectful for Lampard too because if we’re being harsh, he’s had to pick up Mark Robins’ mess to turn the season around.

Ordinarily I would agree, but he's not just any opposition manager he's a club legend.

I'm just saying if we're 2 or 3 nil up or something then I could see a little rendition of 'one Mark Robins'.

Idk about you or Robins, that would seem very sarcastic and/or patronising to me.

We’ve got to professional about it. If he comes to the fans after the game, then we can give him a song as we did for McFadz v Blackburn.

Yes you may be right.

I think it will happen though, someone will start it and it will get traction.

Before and after the game is enough though.

Anyone else not really bothered about what reception robins gets, wouldn’t bother me if nothing happened, he already knows what he meant to the fans, just leave it at that ?

Exactly - all this second guessing about what should & might happen

The Return is all too much for some.
Let's get some half n half scarfs in the club shop.
