Not sure I would want to be about there at night.

I get that, but you feel safer when there's numbers about. If you had steady traffic to and from it, and it was busy up there, you might see it different.

And that is exactly the point.

People love having these arty places, and food stalls etc because it makes the place look more upmarket and affluent.

In reality, no-one really buys anything and they shut down.

Down here it's different, but it is quite an arty part of the world. Folkestone is full of musicians and artists and poets etc. Well, half of it is. The other half (the old town) are rather poor and downtrodden and tend to love Nigel Farage and seem quite onboard with the idea of machine gunning down any small boats heading this way.

Anyway, the Ramsgate emporium has been a big success, so they are opening a brand new branch in Folkestone in the next few weeks

Wonder how that compares to other places

Will be similar elsewhere.

Type it into Google and you see very similar articles from all over.

I was surprised that even Lesta seemed to have more going on when I was there a few months ago. Aesthetically similar though

They need some free short stay parking. There's a small Sainsburys there and sometimes when I'm passing I think about stopping if I need to pick something up but its £2.40 to park!

Realistically the Sainsbury's is not for that. It's popular with the commuters though.

People getting into taxis and Ubers and going elsewhere, not many walking into the City Centre

The food hall will basically overlook the station. Cutting out any walking.

It looks to be a box-park style venue.

nah, it wouldn't work in Earlsdon

it's not aimed at the type of people who live in Earlsdon, it was meant to be aimed at the artier edger crowd

How can a city centre be for immigrants?

That sounds like the sort of food cooked by immigrants for immigrants.

Do bands count as immigrants if they're from abroad? Feels like you're part of the problem tbh.
