£30M in damages??? WTF

No they want Wasps to pay the Council the difference, then they can try and get damages based off that.

Really can't see that happening.

So SISU want Wasps to pay the council the shortfall in valuation and also seek damages.... Wow.

Then the Ricoh could only ever be sold at 50m going forward?

Where would Cov play as that would wind Wasps up surely?

Don't worry, SISU are then going to pay £50M for the Ricoh because that's what they would have proved in court it's worth.

Apparently a decision today:

CCFC owners Sisu, Wasps and council in court over Ricoh - Live

It will be kicked out of court surely?

Must be true. This was obviously there ploy all along. They couldn't prove it was worthless in JR1 so they could pick it up for nothing so they're now going to argue in JR2 that it's worth £50M so they will have to pay £50M for it if they want to buy it. That's essentially what they're saying here.

Just to stir the pot. How would people feel if sisu won the case pocketed £30m and then sold the club?

right i'm losing the thread now.
CCC are the defendants. SISU want CCC to get another 30m. How does that work? If they have undersold how can they go back to the purchaser and get another 30m? CCC can't sue Wasps for 30m. Wasps haven't conned an unwitting or unwilling seller on the price.

I got the thread that maybe the Council hadn't made proper attempts to get full value for the Ricoh. But that's the Council's fault/mistake.

Surely the deal is either valid or invalid. Don't see how it can be a valid deal but Wasps have to pay more money.

But.
Extra money for the council = good, they might have a go at cleaning my street for the first time in the 3 years I've been here.

Sisu get some tokens and fuck off = good

Wasps get fucked up = good

Champions league in 4 years.

surely the council can decide who they sell assets to? same as I can decide who to sell my house to, but I won't sell to someone who threatens to sue me but will to someone who's nice and friendly.

That is true for everything that has happened since SISU came along, and even before then.

Again it doesn't matter. They didn't give anyone the opportunity to bid on those same terms for a publicly owned asset. Claims that Sisu would not have bid on those terms are clearly incorrect as they attempted to purchase the Higgs share at the last minute.

Don't get me wrong, if Sisu win this case they don't win the Ricoh back - the damage is already done, but it is clear, at least from my perspective that CCC made sure that they were shafted (with proof to back this up - "hell freezes over" etc).

SISU had years to get the arena. But each time it looked as though something was sorted they tried to get it even cheaper....including taking us to Northampton.

Yes CCC could have done more for our club. But it was SISU they had to deal with.

probably all academic if the judge is ready to make a quick decision then it was pretty much decided before the hearing. If he doesn't feel the need to review SISU's references to case law then can't see them being successful today.

have to have some responsibility to get best possible return for taxpayers or else the Tories would be selling everything to their mates for next to nothing.

That statement is a bit contradictory,is it not the Labour Council being accused of selling the Ricoh off on the cheap?

was really refering to the national Govt and the Tory inclination towards selling off state assets rather this specific case.
