Ah this dismissive nonsense because it doesn’t fit the Sisu plan, supported by a few in this thread with the hanging on every word of the Sisu lawyer.

What are you actually on about? He was talking about Wasps leaving now, so I said compare it to CCFC leaving now to get an idea of which would be worse. (which is a distinct possibility)

Stop randomly appearing and talking shite constantly. It's as embarrasing as the Wasps lawyer admitted she had no idea of what point she was trying to make, you pair are obviously briefed by the same people.

What is your actual point?

It’s always shite when it hits your Sisu nerve.
Even you must admit this case is an embarrassment.
The sooner this is over the quicker you can get back to something you know about.

You haven't hit any nerve, you are just blabbering with no actual point as per usual.

I pointed out it was a leading question not really related to his point. Sorry to point your crap out.

Isn't muddying the water what you try to do? Pretty much every single time.

Really?
You initial contribution was something garbled about CCFC will be missed more than Wasps. Totally left field.

Unless football fans spend far more per head than rugby fans or there are other factors I’m missing then it must?

I’d bet wasps fans tend to travel from further away as well so more likely to buy lunch, stay over at a hotel etc.

Crass. Does that poor response suggest you have no argument against the post?

Personally not sure why rugby fans would spend more per head and don’t believe more would travel from away...I think even L1 and L2 football clubs bring more to the Ricoh than the avg English rugby club.

I’m not saying rugby fans spend more per head just that the attendance is higher for the rugby.

Also, I wasn’t referring to away fans but that a higher percentage of wasps fans presumably come from outside of the city as wasps weren’t previously based here.

They spend more per head at the stadium as they use the fan village etc. I don't think they use local pubs to the same extent. There are also only 11 guaranteed home games a season.

Latter point possibly true but a lot of CCFC fans travel ‘home’...born in city but live elsewhere and visit family and friends before or after game for meal, drinks, weekend etc.

Of course, but I would still think there’s a higher proportion of wasps fans travelling.

Fernando makes a good point though that there are far fewer games.

He’s argument is totally idiotic. Purchases inside the ground are irrelevant - he’s mentioning hotels. Awesome so let’s mobe Bournemouth up here as hotels will swell and proposer.

Spend and contribution is minimal and even if it wasn’t it’s no excuse to encourage franchising

The amount of revenue generated by CCFC & WASPS fans is not a straight forward calculation. However, CCFC have more fixtures at the Ricoh, but WASPS have a higher average attendance.
Having said that I thought it was reported that secondary spend from the WASPS supporters in the stadium is much higher than us.
Hopefully, this submission won't get a neanderthal response from Grendel.

Yes I am. Your are utterly illogical

According to wasps 92% of fans are in a CVv postcode. They actively encourage fans in as early as possible.

That’s not the point though. You basically are saying bring in a sporting franchise regardless of impact on local sporting teams so Tesco and Witherspoon make a few quid.

I’m not saying do anything. Merely pointing out that, our emotional connection aside as supporters, the only way to measure the benefit or loss to the city, of either team, is surely through the financial benefit it brings the city.

How is that not logical?

So if Manchester United wanted to move here you’d advocate that?

Correct, but projecting the economic impact on the city of football, rugby or concerts will be variable. Most councils project value per head per hotel room night. In some areas I've known that to be valued as a subsidy passed onto event organisers at £10 per person per hotel night.
However, the higher number of wealthier socioeconomic profile of rugby supporters tends to show they have greater disposable income.

No! I’m not advocating anything. Somebody said CCFC would be the greater loss to the city and I was just pointing out that doesn’t seem to be the case on a financial basis.

So you think every city should attract a new rugby club? How much revenue would this generate into the city? Do you think the impact on Earlsdon is huge with the spend from the actual Coventry rugby club?

You said hotels. According to wasps only 150 fans a game live outside CV postcodes and a large proportion are children.

Every city/town should have a variety of events and businesses that generates wealth for the economy of that environment. The actual type of sport of events is immaterial. As ever your snapping without thinking. The profile of the economic generating activities will vary according to the environment. Thats a local decision

Hotels was just an example of ways a fan may spend money ffs.

I have no idea how many fans travel but I assumed (possibly wrongly) wasps fans were still travelling up from down south.

Look I’m sure we can all agree that the greatest outcome here would be:
- wasps lose and go bankrupt
- SISU take their money and sell the club
- ACL go bust, with the lease returning to the council unencumbered

The club can then re-negotiate a new deal and we’re all hunky dory
