He's repeating the Council PR from the Trust.

He is making it sound as if there's loads of people at the council working full time on it, in reality it is just people in the planning dept who have had “no involvement in the ongoing litigation.”

How many planning officers / staff would be involved in the litigation anyway?

More secret Trust meetings with their mates.

Why did the Council send a lawyer to a meeting with the Trust?

"The council has had a team dedicated to this project for many months" makes it sound like a big team of people working on the project full time which would surely raise the question what are they doing? The input required from the council is to identify suitable sites and / or respond in a timely and helpful manner to any queries and enquiries from the club.

Suspect the reality is there's just someone in planning assigned to deal with anything related to CCFC and nothing is actually happening. Duggins has said in the past, to paraphrase, the council are doing the minimum that is legally required of them.

Myself and Pete had a meeting lined up with them which was cancelled due to COVID situation. They were also bringing legal reps to that from what I can remember.

Maybe it's to stop Duggins from blurting things out that he shouldn't.

It sounds like they're not doing anything regarding the stadium without having legal representation, clearly worried about dropping any clangers with the eu complaint hanging over them.

Be interesting to find out if they only do this for meetings relating to CCFC or if its standard council policy. Suspect the former which raises the question of why, what are they worried about?

I’m sure we can. We don’t want to step on any parties toes whilst negotiations are ongoing. Whether an agreement is made or not I’m pretty certain that mark and i will still seek a discussion hopefully to discuss support for Ccfc in identifying a site, obtaining planning permission and the support a council can give but it may be a different discussion if we are spending the season once again outside of Coventry

Have emailed him for details of resource expended and planned in this financial year.

Also to say it would be great to rearrange our meeting once decisions have been communicated about where ccfc will be playing next season

A litigious company that's caused them untold problems in the past looking to jump on even the most minor admin or procedural error.

So the headline is cllr duggins is not aware of any project team assisting CCFC but will check with the chief executive and come
back when he has. Sounds like neil may been answering a question not being asked on Twitter. He’s once again offered to meet Mark so once a decision has been made on where we are playing next year I’ll follow this up and check dates with you

Any chance once you do you can go back to Neil on twitter to make sure his nonsense is properly called out, don't want the normal accounts to take this and misinform people again

i prefer things have changed and at the time they were a few people helping. I don’t think what he says is incorrect but Cllr Duggins is so open and quick to respond you’d think he’d check before just saying something that may not be correct. In any case the chief executive may confirm some time was spent in this and the last financial year. To be frank I’d expect some investment in time and effort to make it possible given the money it would bring to the city and its businesses.

Oh and I’m not on Twitter

It won't have been a dedicated team though. I think somebody has got their spin mixed up

To be fair to Neil, if by 'this project' he means the project of making sure nothing positive happens in regards to CCFC f they have anything to say about it, and the club get screwed as much as the council can manage, then he's correct! the council have had a "a team dedicated to this project' for many many many many months

I'm not sure getting into Twitter spats helps anyone's case. I'm more interested to see what we/they/whoever can do to move things forward rather than worry about who was right or wrong in the past.

I didn't mean it to start a spat, more to ensure that the correct information was out there as there are people who seem to think that guy actually knows what he is talking about. I want unity as much as the next guy but would rather have the truth out there that's all

I don't know who Neil is but he is talking absolute bollocks and I will call him out for it on twitter. There is absolutely no one in the planning department working to help the club and the club has not made any enquiries, the applications for planning is publicly available.

Cllr Duggins has confirmed Martin Reeves CEO has no knowledge of such a project team either.

Not arguing with the first bit, but an app this size wouldn’t go straight to outline permission anyway, there’d be lots of preliminary talks first to ensure it stood a chance. So the fact an app hasn’t been submitted doesn’t mean there hasn’t been work done.

The council has two planning stages pre and full app. The pre app is designed to make sure if the proposal goes to full it passes committee. If something is being discussed it's not in the realms of the planning department as we speak that is a fact.

I don’t think pre app stuff is reported online was my point. The first you’d see of it on the portal is outline permission. As I say not arguing, just clarifying that the planning portal alone doesn’t prove the absence of discussions. To be clear, I don’t think there’s been discussions.

As expected Neil was deliberately misleading by putting his own slant on an old story to try & paint Council = Good, SISU = Bad yet again.
