All that is not extending the CBS at all, it’s just reorganizing the space it already has.I’ll have a bash.
We’ve had 40000 in for concerts so fire escape certificate / insurance / police / medical certificate or whatever would be not so much an issue.
I guess can increase it a bit to about 33-34k without too much infrastructure change.
The posh seats that no-one sits at? Rip
Half out and replace with some safe standing and sell more “exec tickets” up there. Folks can watch the game and drink beer behind the glass with notional seats outside that they don’t sit in anyway but more of them. It’s the concourse area and that side that we need to squeeze.
If it's kept as it is they'll be empty seats whatever league we're in
If we are still in this strong of position going into Jan i will be expecting news from within the club about future plans. I would not be shocked to wake up at some point early next year with plans released for development the clubs ground, 1st team and academy facilities. I doubt Doug is sitting wondering what to do i think its just a matter of time before we find out. Because if premiership football is gained the club can not stand still and to attract the players they have to see a club with real intentions to be the next team to go up and be an established prem club.
What?
We might only be in the EPL for one season, why would we develop the ground?
And as for competing, the CBS is more than a match for a large chunk of current premiership grounds, though I doubt incoming players worry about that too much, more interested in their weekly pay packet.
I was more referring to developing the income streams with the CBS. The actual physical development would be 1st team and academy.
My mistake
As soon as we get to the Prem, the one thing that’ll definitely be expanded is the hospitality offering.I’ll have a bash.

Academy is the next big thing the club needs to upgrade! Not being a Cat 1 academy is taking future talent away from our club. Players like Monga should’ve been developed in our academy! It's an expensive stadium to run and maintain. It needs Premiership money to keep it afloat in the long run. Would like to see Ryton developed and maybe the purchase of the Connexion
If we go up the home fan capacity will be reduced due to the PL rules around away fan allocationAs soon as we get to the Prem, the one thing that’ll definitely be expanded is the hospitality offering.
1 hospitality seat sold is worth 5+ supporters in terms of spend.
The conversation around extending the ground when we don’t sell out is a bit redundant. First thing first, the club needs to maximise home fan allocation and the hospitality tickets being sold. Do that first and have a solid demand over several years, then there’s a conversation to be had.
I think the current thinking is to get more revenue out of non football leisure and entertainment activities before and after the matches. I expect more of this maybe even Christmas themed events.I’ll have a bash.
