If Chris Morris is working on a satire of the handling of the corona virus he'll be throwing it in the bin after todays interviews with Grant Shapps. Beyond parody.

Only 590 cases yesterday which is getting to France Italy and Spain levels eventually. Could consider opening up in a few days . Oops. Really good news if there’s not more to come out about loss of tests or tier 3 not being included etc etc

89 deaths is a move in the right direction. Lets hope this weekend doesn't blow things up again.

Wouldn’t surprise me. After all Cummings is Goves man not Boris’ and Boris has served his purpose.
(Edit) maybe that should be the other way around. Gove is Cummings man. Either way Boris has served his purpose.

tbf that was the problem I had as soon as we hit May. Not sure I want Johnson out for either Raab or Gove... or one of the ideological nutters. How I long for the days of May's government!

Good to see measures are being put in place to encourage people to act responsibly as requested.

But they really want people to be sensible, Boris has also said that opening on a Saturday is no different to re-opening on a Monday

In airports, I'm not sure about anywhere else. Will anyone be really wanting to get smashed by midday? Who am I kidding.

What do they expect is going to happen FFS! IMO it's another bow to the 'never left herd immunity' theory.

If you want it to be sensible you open them for a short period to begin with and then longer hours as time goes by depending on how things go.

OK, do that and you'll still get dickheads ordering 6 pints straight up and drinking as quick as they can, but when are the govt realise there isn't the continental attitude towards alcohol here.

Just thought I'd add if anyone is going out for a meal I strongly recommend taking your own cutlery - you;ll have no idea who's used them first or how clean they'll be.

Would say the same about taking your own plastic pint glass to th pub but doubt it'd be allowed in.

R rate gone above 1 in London apparently, this is going to end in tears isn't it?

Coronavirus R rate creeps up above 1 in London just hours before lockdown eases

Pubs can't open until 6am as lockdown eases

No.10 pretending that allowing pubs to open from 6am is a sensible precaution.

6am could spread the people getting involved out though. But in reality the real drinkers will be on it all day.

My mates booked a 2 hour table at a pub in Leamington. Couple of minutes from his house so we are going for a few. I’ll be smashing a few down then back to his. I’m in 2 minds about it but I’m going to keep it sensible and I’m convinced it’s all getting shut down again in a few weeks so fuck it.

The 6am opening is only for pubs with a license to serve at that time, it isn't that all pubs will open at 6.
