This is really good: also adds in difference between extensive and smaller scale social distancing which is really what we are discussing in this country. We aren’t going free for all (as we’re self isolating and cancelling events) and we couldn’t go quarantine even if we wanted like the Chinese. So our argument is really should we do extensive or moderate social distancing, I think from a purely medical POV this shows extensive is much better, at what cost to the economy is the $1,000,000 question though.

We can talk and argue and postulate but having looked around a lot of fans forums and seeing the various news stories, opinions on what will or should happen is dictated by where your team is currently in the league.

The Leagues are talking on Thursday, according to the News, so let's see what they think before we all melt down. Saying that, if the forum does go into meltdown, "experts" have suggested that the virus will die off with heat (they said of the summer months but any heat would be fine, I guess)

I got shot down when I said about it not being able to live in the heat. The word un France was 25 degrees or higher. Would need a heatwave in the UK. Temperature just under 20 degrees where wife and kids are at the moment. Hopefully we will find out soon.

Yeah I've got family over there as has the wife, they've said it really is on lock down with everywhere shut. Half their cases are in the east, presumably around Dublin.

That thing about it being sensitive to temperature has been written off as untrue. The Middle East shows you that.

You'd think we'd be able to find out by how it spreads in the southern hemisphere

Nowhere down near me is anywhere near as heavily populated as Dublin, but my wife works in a pharmacy and they’ve been told that they will have security guards on the door soon as they know it’s “on the way”.

Is it just numbers or lack of hospital equipment or space?

Sadly it's probably what a lot of middle America wants to hear and will make him even more popular in his core base. Forget science etc, just pray to the Lord and that's the best you can do. They won't be the only place though.

With respect if it's 'on the way' those security guards will need be in army uniforms and have live ammunition.

If enough people run out of supplies of essential medical items a couple of security guards will not be able to prevent the looting that would take place.

My lad is in NZ at the moment one of the safest places to be.
He was supposed to move on to Australia but they have now closed the border.
Has decided to stay where he is and maybe get a job and wait until it dies down.

To be honest it is shite, especially as the weather is getting up into the 20s this week. Psychologically it takes its toll in the early days and I felt very down initially but now am a little more upbeat.
I have been hitting my punchbag, building a website for the business I am putting together and reading books. You will get through it but it is not much fun at all.
