Sadly you could see this coming in Florida. They were racing to get everywhere, including bars, open when the numbers were way too high.

Did he just say that AZ are starting production of a vaccine before it's received approval?

Think that’s rehashed old news. Clearly looking for a distraction from track and trace.

There's been a rugby club training in the memorial park for weeks with no social distancing. Bet that doesn't get a mention in the Telegraph. Those military boot camp classes, or similar, have been running for weeks as well.

It's a bit of a random thing to go to the press about and then to publish it.

Some tweets from the chair of the C&W STP saying that basically local authorities have taken it upon themselves now in the absence of central govt.

That works out at an average of 8.7 contacts per case. By comparison in New Zealand they have traced and contacted over 300 people from the two people from the UK who tested positive and they were advised to minimise contact with people as they were allowed out under a compassionate exemptions to the quarantine rules.

Also seems that those two cases are enough for NZ to deem that their system wasn't strict enough. The military will now be overseeing the quarantine sites and exemptions no longer allowed.

Old news. I linked an article to this week’s ago and in turn that article was already weeks old. Just something for the idiots to tell the idiots so the idiots can get excited about so they can think the government are doing a great job because they’re clueless.

Is this the vaccine that doesn't give immunity but reduces the seriousness of the virus in people who do get it?

If so we spoke about this 2 weeks ago

I don’t think they even know if it does that yet. It’s being made in anticipation that it might do something.

Anyone who listened to the talk talk enquiry would know that woman should have not been anywhere near this project.

Still, I'm sure she's pocketed a few Bob of our money.

Hope the news that hospital admissions have increased to 490 from 458 on the same day last week is just a blip.

As a customer of Talk Talk while she was the CEO, I fully concur. Its no surprise this has developed into the farce it has. Another case of it being who you know, not what you know.

Could or should a more stringent lockdown protocol be put in place during the autum/ winter as a precautionary measure should a vaccine not be found or if there is a slow rise in cases again

What do you think of them making a vaccine that hasn't been approved yet? Not having a go just curious

So that when it hopefully gets approved they can get it out straight away? Common sense isn’t it?

Because if it's not passed or needs to be altered it's a big waste of money, raw materials and brainpower.

Tony's point, unless I've got it wrong, was that they've dragged up an old 'good news' story today to try and distract from their track and trace disaster.

Common sense would be when setting up track and trace to use a proven, readily available app instead of giving the contract to a company headed up by the person responsible for the biggest data breach (es) in the country's history but we went with the latter option.

I can't help but suspect they'll be a similar vaccine related fuck up.

To be fair, AZ are more than reliable enough to take on the job of producing it but I don't agree with rushing it before it's even been approved.

You would hope that this isn't just wishful thinking and there is a good chance the vaccine will work. How much is being spent on production before we know if it works?

If they'd been even half competent they wouldn't have needed to spend as much money. Still needed to spend a lot but not as much. Plus we all know who'll be the ones that have to take the cuts when they want it paying back.

It was good news. Two weeks ago when I first heard about it. It’s just old news now. Unless you’re easily duped.

Or conversely if it doesn't they've wasted loads of money on something useless. Like the track and trace app. So let's look at why that was approved. Whatever reason it certainly wasn't a case of looking after their mates.

Do you really need someone to explain to you why this government is full of idiots after 40000 deaths brought around by the highest death rate in the world. Surely it’s self explanatory.
