It's obvious that the archaic set up of HOP suit the baying partisan cheerleading approach.
One thing that has become absolutely evident through the remote /reduced attendance, and observations of the Scottish Parliament recently is the executive approach .
Becomes much less about physical 'performance' and completely about the content quality and accuracy of the answers.

We have set up Parliament to let people shout at each other. Holyrood is set up for more of a round table discussion though the bitching does still happen.

That's a very good point. Having one side looking directly at the opposition encourages this behaviour. Time for a complete redesign of the chamber. Wonder if there's a way you could set it up so you had different political allegiances next to each other? Like at school stopping the naughty kids sitting together at the back causing trouble.

All face teacher rather than adversarial

Like church pews .

Clearly Boris appeared stronger today but I think Keir stood up well , even ad libbing off script successfully and well able to defend .
Boris definitely on the rise from previous poor showings .
So optically a good day for him

I’m happy to do a seating plan but it’s hard when nobody wants to sit next to Hancock, Gove or Johnson.

Johnsons not saying anything coherent or of substance but yeah, there are people who will fall for it.
Like when he was trying to defend the governments record on child poverty by bigging up their handling of the economy during the crisis, all he said was they had done more than any government in the world to protect the economy but he didn't even throw out a few stats like we've spent x amount on the furlough scheme, x amount on the self employed assistance scheme because you just know he's been to fucking lazy to maintain that information.

I've said it before but it's as plain as day that he wants to be called PM but he doesn't actually want to do the job. He's a bone idle fuck.

When David Cameron did a ‘behind the scenes’ thing for the Sun it was pretty clear that while a knob, he took the job seriously and prepared properly for PMQs, interviews and so on. Plus he had more of a brain.

Says a lot that I wish he was back!

i don't think in my life while I've had an interest in politics I've ever accused a PM of being bone idle before.

That’s because for all their flaws, they were willing to put the hours in. Like Andy Morrell it doesn’t mean they were good, but it’s the minimum. Think some of the more serious Tories will be embarrassed that this is the guy at the helm.

There was a documentary on the foreign office which covered some of Johnson's time as Foreign Secretary. Definitely worth a watch, not on iplayer anymore but all 3 episodes are on daily motion.

I saw it. You could see how exasperated the civil servants were getting with him.

I think it was Marina Hyde (who is very good) who said that Johnson 'always wanted to be PM, wants to have been PM, but it's the bit in the middle he struggles with'.

Do the schools have any idea how much work is actually being done by pupils? Its great that the move to remote teaching was done so quickly and that work can be provided for over the summer but are the kids actually paying attention? The memorial is rammed full of large groups of kids every day which makes me wonder.

Other than Teams or some subject specific website (we use something called Hegarty Maths) then it’s very difficult. Any student that is off-line it’s near on impossible to track. Some schools and subjects have gone for teaching new content - we went for consolidation of existing knowledge, because in reality when we do get back we will have to re-teach the new stuff anyway because of them either not doing it, doing it and not understanding so we’ll have to unpick all the misconceptions.

Really? I couldn't disagree more. I think she's brilliant, much less preachy than JO'B, and very funny too. Plus I am very fond of her disdain and hatred of Johnson.

The Covid crisis could have been a chance to showcase the benefits of the union. All it has done is the opposite.

there’s a Twitter account where you can see all tweets that got deleted by MPs, very enlightening on how some of these people actually think (on all sides) when they’re not being vetted by someone - it’s @deletedbyMPs. Don’t know if this is old news but looks like there’s a huge cleanup going on.

it’s Darren Grimes apparently, deleted 14,000 tweets going back years

You should have told your mate Boris that when he was extolling the virtues of being able to import a biscuit from the other side of the world.
And just for clarity, what do you consider more important? I don't think you're referring to the death count so you're probably talking about going to the pub.
