That was my thought. But you would have thought they might have said with outside seating facilities only to start.

The last thing Italy needs is a spike in numbers. Everyone will be desperate for somewhere to go that places will be packed.

From the 4th May things will start to reopen gradulally, so any hint that things are going badly and the restrictions will return. We are able to travel unrestricted within our own regions' from the 4th, which means that a weekend at the in-laws has already been planned....

They only had 1000 home testing kits apparently. I’m absolutely baffled how they are dropping bollock after bollock.

I've just gone off his social media about that one as he was doing tweet after tweet about people going to the pub but no mention of the bridge. Same as when everybody was killing OAPS by going to the pub but no mention of people queing up at ASDA for hours. He may have mentioned it since but he wasn't at the time.

The people gathering in crowds o clap the NHS is stupid - it's doing everything the NHS don't want people to do to make their jobs easier. If you want to clap you can - you don't need to do it there. These people should be called out for the numpties they are and how what their doing could end up killing someone just like the pub goers.

But you've got this fixation about pubs. It was absolutely right to call out those people because they were doing something unnecessary and risking passing the infection on in huge droves.

As for the ASDA thing, as I said before some people will have been there unnecessarily, others won't and actually have been in need of supplies. What do you suggest these people should have done with online bookings and click and collect full. Seen the queue and gone home again? Then gone back a few hours later to see the situation hasn't changed. Then gone back the day after, and the day after that until it's deemed quiet enough?

Talking of Cpt Tom, I've seen snippets on the news of Peter Kay redoing Amarillo. I hope he was in the video somewhere.

I doubt it mate.

Still if his hardcore base want to try it'll massively increase the chances of him losing the election. Or even better he could have one of those Gummer moments and get him and his kids to do it to prove it's safe (#gallowshumour)

We can now add Domestos Violence to all his other crimes and misdemeanours

It isn't a fixation, it's just an example right at the very start where a particular thing was singled out. I didn't personally go to a pub.

The people who gathered for the NHS include NHS staff and police who I assume are on duty as they are in uniform and driving ambulances / police vans. That helicopter fly over in Coventry was shocking. I was pointing out that people will see it and then not bother staying in.

I still haven't been to a supermarket in weeks and we have far from starved and have been able to wipe our arses. If anything we are eating better now.

I guess to be fair to him in a clinical trial the number of people dying from coronavirus after injecting bleach would be 0%

Wonder how many people want a test because they think they have the virus, and how many are just doing it for the sake of it

I know I shouldn’t as it’s a serious subject but I had to chuckle earlier as he’s having an absolute mare isn’t he (it’s like everything he’s touched has turned to shit recently). I bet it will be the new testing guy that will get the credit for getting the capacity up to 100k next week as well !

To be fair to Hancock though he knows the demand is there, they’ve just broadened those that can apply for a test (to all key workers from just nhs/care and families) as they’re nowhere near using the capacity, hence the flood of requests (just heard on the radio they had 5000 requests in two mins). Possibly shouldve ensured they system could’ve coped before making the announcement though !

Depends how it is handled.

About 500 people are employed where I work. Those who can work from home do. Thise with underlying health issues of any kind are off on full pay. We have people in sterilizing what can be touched 24 hours a day. Our temperature is checked each day on arrival to work before we get on site. Any slight symptoms and off for 14 days.

Don't know what is happening elsewhere though.

I work in a environmental lab, we do testing and analysis on sewage and drinking waters.

Social distancing is not being followed properly, people are regularly within 2m of each other, sometimes through people being careless and sometimes it is impossible because of space. When you are training another analyst it's impossible to remain 2 m away.

We are all sharing lab equipments, disposable gloves are being shared between about 20 people (not the actual gloves but the glove box is being shared, so when you have 20 people changing there gloves probably 10 times a day that's a lot of hands reaching into the glove box)
Personal coats and lab coats are being hung up on coat pegs touching each other in the cloak rooms and are then left overnight all in close proximity.

We are still fully open, even for the non essential work streams. Lots of other non essential business/production are remaining open.
Where do you work?

Those ones who think they are orchestrating it to make themselves look like they love the NHS more than everybody else.

Seeing examples of this every day when I'm out walking the dog. For some reason people seem to have decided its acceptable to drive on the wrong side of the A45 so they can turn into side roads without going down to the BP roundabout and back up.

Just see a tweet from Richard Horton (editor of the Lancet)

He heard of an NHS frontline worker tested for COVID on 31st March, has only just had the positive test result back.

There is lot lot more to this headline 'capacity for 25k' tests nonsense that what's made out.

Hmmmm Horton has got a bit of an axe to grind through. If he’d been contacted by hundreds or at least tens of people saying the same Id definitely take notice (surely if he’s been contacted by one he’d have undertaken some investigations to find out if this is a widespread issue - not saying it’s not the case but as over 600k tests have been undertaken, including 60k for nhs and key workers, I would’ve expected to have heard more about this by now if it was a major/widespread issue

Let’s see if more come out the woodwork
