There is no way in hell you can stand over the conscious decision to not test people in care homes. You just can't. You are knowingly sending peopl e to- at best- sickness and a good chance of death. Call the terminology over the top if you like, perhaps "murderous negligence" might be better, but you cannot justify, explain away or justify what is happening in care homes.

That wasn’t the discussion or point mate. This was about testing those returning from hospital to a care home (which I’m glad they’re now doing but thought the comments were OTT)

ok fair enough- I'm still working and grumpy and just popped over for a gander. Still- when you are refusing tests to care home workers when we apparently have all this "ramped up" capacity, can't be right.

Let's hope this is true, if it is true then the Nightingale hospitals will never get anywhere near capacity if used much at all.

Yes it does mate I also heard that the intensive care cases keep falling as well, I have had a couple of client pitches the last couple of days so not been able to watch the daily briefings, will try to tomorrow thoughTotal cases and deaths down again @Sick Boy

Capacity is not the same as tests done. Capacity is increasing. Tests done is a function of the testing strategy in place. More NHS staff are being tested now in addition to hospital patients. You have to increase the available capacity before offering the test more widely else that capacity will be swamped, backlogs developed and turnaround time for results extended. Availability of testing equipment and test reagents has been limited and delivery unreliable.
