Here’s his chance to create a massive amount of belief and goodwill with those thousands of people that go out and canvass, support and do the dirty work on the ground
Read the report and wreak havoc on those that tried to stop us winning in 2017. He’ll unite the party more than ever that way.

There was no one but Starmer which is a sad indictment not just on Labour but British politics in general.

As I said in another post, Corbyn tried the civil discourse route, it flopped.
Time for gloves off. He'll win doubters round more with that approach.

But after just 4 days you make out he has failed.

All I keep saying is give him a chance. But you keep coming out with things he might have done wrong.

Why tell me? I have already said the same thing a few times.

Let's see how it plays out.
I really hope he makes a good go of it and offers a realistic alternative to the Tories and not some Tory lite nonsense.
The country needs it.

My mrs told me about this post, and I agree with Nick. They’re clearly after a few likes. As if you’d “accidentally” cook for that amount of people when you know it’s not needed.

On the same(ish) sort of note, I’ve never heard so many texts into radios saying ‘I’m a nurse...’, most of them probably are but I bet there’s a lot of lies and sad people want to be praised for absolutely no reason.

That is all I am asking for. He won't be able to shit miracles.

And as you have just said he was the only decent prospect out of the whole lot of them. And what I have been hammered for when saying so. We are in a sad state at the moment.

My biggest worry is who does he replace those who are incapable with?

It is going to be a long hard job. But he has a few years to do it in. And the major bonus is the Tories have Boris. A decent leader will pull Boris to bits.

My wife has always cooked too much. That is why I got fat. Now I don't live with her I am a slimline 16 1/2 st. Dropped nearly 3st. Even the dogs love their vegetables. Had to put a stop to them getting all the leftovers.

Well let us know when you actually receive the money back off the government. A month ago people were confident there'd be no problem with Covid19.

As with anything in politics, you believe it when it happens, not when they say it will happen.

To be honest I think this serves more as further evidence that certain groups weren't actually concerned with anti-semitism rather than showing Starmer leaping into action.

Lets give him the benefit of the doubt and say he knew nothing of the report, or the actions detailed in it, until he saw it on the news today. Think his response to it will be key to determining if he can unite the party.

Its one thing to say it but you only have to take a brief look at social media to see there are many who don't believe it and see him as Blair 2.0. He had a chance to make a statement of unity with his cabinet but went the other way instead, Reeves in particular a strange appointment in that regard even discarding the anti-semitism issue.

He's got a lame duck government at the moment making a complete mess of a crisis and should also have a new leader bounce. So while its fair to say give him a chance he can't drift along for too long.

The standard polling normal are not applicable at the moment.

In a crisis caused by outside forces incumbent governments will poll extremely well.

It will be more telling inthe aftermath than the actually crisis.

He's been nothing short of pathetic so far but agree he needs a chance, the mood music is not encouraging

"it's not the time to go over what's happened before" the Tories have won 4 elections doing exactly that ffs

"nurses should get a medal" fuck platitudinous rubbish like that, they deserve better pay and conditions, and all the resources they need to do their job, not a fucking medal

Tbh with you I have less time for the mendacious centrist cunts like Phillips than I do the Tories, people willing their own side to lose an election are beyond contempt, careerist arseholes

Yesterday you used a single person (Chris Smith) to suggest PPE equipment wasn't effective. And that you took massively out of context as he was talking specifically about the general public, not frontline NHS staff.

It'd be great if we didn't, but I'm prepared for the likelihood we will. It would be good to start seeing the figures start to decline soon, but I think we've still got a little way to go yet unfortunately.

To be honest I can understand him purging Corbyn affiliates from the shadow cabinet
Corbyn tried to go down the conciliatory route and it bit him on the arse.
But if you're going to play hard ball then.play hard ball with the opposition as well. He's missing a lot of opportunities at the moment.
