I can’t see us reclaiming Scotland especially when the current shadow foreign secretary said that we should look to Catalonia to see how to deal with nationalism... that shit sticks and will most definitely be brought up again in time.

Scotlands a problem no doubt. Similar issues to Brexit there. God knows what we do.

though you are massively misquoting Nandy there. She wasn’t talking about the right wing government at all that was fake news from the RLB camp. To be honest that habit is what’s out me off identifying as on the left of the party. Same as the Jess Phillips “knife him in the front” stuff. Stick to the facts.

This is why mandatory reselection for every election isn’t the worst idea. MP’s should realise it’s not a job for life and if you aren’t working in the interests of the people you should be out on your arse.

It’s not that I’m misquoting - but that’s how the quote was presented. I’m in no doubt that’s not WHAT she meant... buts that how it will be put out there.

I’ve far more time for Nandy than I do for people like Jess Phillips (although her work on domestic violence has been excellent)

Exactly. She may have been misunderstood but it went down like a lead balloon in Scotland. It wasn't a good start.

I think we should include Boris Johnson in this game, he had some record as
Foreign Secretary.

It's the middle of a crisis. Incumbent governments always poll well in a crisis period.

Wait until this is over

G won’t respond - he never does. Only likes to play his games on his terms and when he gets to ask the spurious questions.

He’s probably busy managing his Twitter account right now...

It makes no difference the truth is that is the same as Boris Johnson campaigning for Thomas Maer - he should have been reminded just for that. He was never ever going to win an election and Blair with the war as his legacy would still have done better

Well one person says that. My point about Ireland is it’s a very different country to England. It’s more similar to Sweden and is running at the same death rate per population despite a very different approach

They both had their first recorded death on the same day but other than that you’re not nearly correct. Sweden has almost double the population of Ireland yet almost three times as many deaths. The opposite of what you say is true. If anything it’s definitive proof that Sweden’s approach failed, given that both Ireland and Sweden should be on the same curve.

This doesn't seem good, only 1% of applications to the governments emergency loan scheme have been processed according to the Sunday Times.
The government’s loans scheme for coronavirus-struck businesses has been criticised by a former governor of the Bank of England, as the government admitted that just 1 per cent of applications have been processed so far.

Lord King, who was head of the bank during the 2008 financial crash, said it was clear “something has gone wrong” with the scheme.

Just 4,200 loans have gone out to businesses in the three weeks that the scheme has been running, the business secretary Alok Sharma said this morning. There are estimated to have been 300,000 applications so far.

“I am worried about it because the economy will recover quickly only if we can keep the businesses that existed and the beginning of it still functioning,”

I have answered - Corbyn could never win an election ever - someone should have forced him out - Tories don’t give lane ducks much time before they are shot

Was he right on apartheid? Yes or No.
Was he right on LGBT rights? Yes or No.
Was he right on campaigning for the release of the Birmingham 6 and Guildford 4 if you want to talk about the IRA. Yes or No.

Not saying he got everything right but then which MP has.

My local one has been shut since 23rd March, noticed another one closed as well. Both Chinese chippies. The local one announced it was closing before official lockdown. I was wondering if it was because they were better informed about the actual situation in China.

I said this at the time- it’s a mess. Furlough will be just the same.

Certain people on here- in their clamour to give the impression that we have done everything right- disputed the view that the government assistance schemes are fraught with risk and will be a massive mess. Just wait until the furlough claims start going in, it will be worse.

I am assuming that the people who argued the toss when it was pointed out that the government schemes were highly risky will choose not to comment.

That’s interesting. Which portal are you using to apply out of interest?

You know, seeing as you can’t apply until the end of April at earliest.

You’re a bullshitter
