It makes me laugh that the people thinking they are taking the higher ground here are actually as bad as, if not worse than the people they are trying to argue with.

There's many people on here that need to take a good look at themselves. It's just the Brexit thread part two, with the same bitter souls putting words in the mouths of others because they can't cope with their favoured politics being rejected by the majority of country.

Maybe by being a little bit more understanding and open to honest and adult debate something good could come of it. I guess we'll have to accept that will never happen though.

This thread really is pathetic.

A lot of this thread is absolutely nothing to do with Coronavirus.

It's an easy excuse for some to hide behind though.

What is with this victim mentality?

As far as I can see, all parties have been criticised. I think Labour are a load of shit, but my thoughts on the tories are almost exactly the same.

I don't know why some think it is such one way traffic when it's pretty obvious the abuse has been coming from both sides.

it's absolutely embarrassing and shows total disdain for our NHS staff.
I've asked twice on this thread is there a need to call back more experienced Tories due to the firstly lack of numbers due to isolation and then gain due to the evident lack of experience. But this is all about partisan politics, fucking pathetic.

I'd hail Tommy Robinson as a hero if he flew in with a plane load of the correct equipment. Some people need a look at themselves.

The WHO actually says that masks on their own aren’t effective. The same way as a crash helmet won’t stop you getting road rash if you come off a motorbike wearing just a crash helmet and underpants. You need full PPE for it to be at its most effective not part PPE.

I have not said it’s one way, I have said on multiple occasions that it’s both ways and the country is fucked up. However you up there in your ivory tower need to face facts that when disastrous mistakes are made then it is customary to ask questions of the people that made those mistakes.

Why don’t you say what you think? Don’t just come on here waffling about labour being bitter and Brexit- do you think mistakes were made on COVID19? Do you think our response and handling has been good? If you don’t have an answer or you’re just not willing to say it then probably best to pipe down from criticising people who do (very understandably) want some answers.

My agenda is that both sides of the political spectrum are are each others throats about any bit of dust they can kick up. Relevant or not relevant.

Equally no one has said anything about not appreciating the NHS. All I see though is some sad bitter men on here.

I actually agree with a lot of what you say there, but who are these ‘sad individuals’, because it comes across like you have perceived the Conservatives to be getting a kick in and felt aggravated by if. What is your view on the way they’ve handled it? Because like it or not it is them that have handled it

You literally just said about 10 minutes ago that there was a difference between how labour get treated and the tories with your example about making Boris jokes and Brexit.

I don't see why I have to be a hardcore Labour or Tory supporter. I despise both of them in pretty equal measure and I've also openly criticised both or them when I've deemed it necessary.

I completely agree. I actually saw a letter on twitter apparently from Boris, inviting people from across parties and ex- ministers to ‘join the team’, but I never saw it again or heard anything about it so wrote it off as a fake or something.

I've openly said I think they could have dealt with it better. Equally I think Labour would have dealt with it worse.

I have little faith in any of them to be quite honest, but I'll happily applaud the right moves if I see them made, regardless of who it is from.

That's the worse attempt at deflection I've seen. Yes, the thread goes off topic at times, but the crux of it is, you either think the government has done a god job on protecting staff or it hasn't? Are you going to defend them when they've clearly fucked up?

The other issue is the herd immunity/ calling lock down too late argument. I've actually defended them a little bit on this but it's all ' a favourite politician being rejected'

You're looking silly mate.

I'm all for holding the government to account. I detest them. I just think this goes a lot further than that and I'm pretty sick of it.

If I had to be honest there is an alarming amount of politicians in this country across all parties that in my opinion are not remotely even fit enough to serve.

I have also defended them on herd immunity. While there is no vaccine it is the only way to return to normal.

The argument is how many people would die. Looking at the stats behind the deaths there are a lot of older people dying so it would be hard to protect them.

I might be a dickhead sometimes, but I'm a self aware one. I can't see anywhere here where I've made myself look silly.

I've come on here to point out that many people are behaving ridiculously and the coronavirus is just another way to get their political bias across. Given that you jumped down my throat at the first opportunity, I would question your deflection here, rather than my own pretty straight angle.

I've clearly stated several times that the government should be held to account for their mishandling of things. As the son of a nurse/midwife, I know all too well about working conditions under both governments so I can safely say it's appalling across the board. In fact, it makes me pretty sick in the stomach.

I came on here to try and shed a bit of clarity from a more neutral perspective, and put a message out that some people should get a bit of a grip. Not really sure why you are firing shots at me.

Although I am loath to back up Patel in any way, shape or form, her error was just one of stumbling over her words rather than just getting her actual figures wrong. So I don't expect her to get quite as much grief over it as Abbott. If she does though it would be quite instructive as to where the criticism is coming from, esp as an ex-Chancellor got relatively little in comparison for also getting the figures wrong.

think most people are of the same mind, it's an easy mistake, but we all know what would have happened to Abbott.
And to be fair to Priti vacant she was probably quoting Hancocks figures on testing so she may have actually read it how it was written.
