This is why you need a strong person with broad shoulders to make those tough calls.

It would have been total madness to do so. Everyone would have come down on him like a tonne of bricks. All sides, every angle.

It was a genuine criticism, it's poor decision making from those in power. Why are you so defensive over a Muslim politician? are they beyond judgement?

Mate you are just making a fool of yourself now.

It's not hard to see why some people might think you have certain biases when you start criticising people for following the advice and guidelines being passed down from those with expertise in the field and from the central government.

Total Madness would have been to do nothing, countries that made tough decision quickly like Hong Kong, Singapore, Russia have saw few cases, countries with dithering politicians have saw huge amounts of cases.

it's absolute madness.

Sure have a go for TFL not doing enough for their workers (interestingly the union isn't asking for more PPE but fo rthe front doors of the bus to be locked and the seats aroun dthe driver t be blocked off) but to keep attacking him for following the medical advise of the time is odd. Really odd

Let’s see what happens when they remove lockdown though. We still don’t know if they’ll get a big second wave.

But that's for the government to decide not a major.
I think it's becoming evident we should have locked down earlier.
To be honest, it's not a stick I'd personally use to beat the government too much with, it's a unique situation and the likes of Hong Kong and Singapore learned lessons from the SARs outbreak.

Hong Kong - 974 Cases 4 Deaths
Singapore - 1,623 cases 7 Deaths

They saw the virus weeks before we did. It's almost like having strong leadership with backbone actually works.

I agree about PPE.
He should be doing more to help TFL staff rather than just hiding behind the government say it's for NHS workers which he appears to be doing.

It's a big leap from that to what you're suggesting.

TBF they are not TFL staff, they're employed by the range of franchised private bus operators in London. Without wanting to sound harsh. It really is down to their employers, if they want to take on public contracts they ought to take on the broad obligations associated with a public service, not just leech cash away like they do.

If you're so against point-scoring then why aren't you kicking off about Marty trying to point score on Labour by criticising Khan? Weird how you're in here every day talking about how bad our numbers are yet defend the government at every turn, who, in case you missed it, are the ones who are in charge of dealing with all this shite.

Why are you solely focused on criticising the Mayor of London as opposed to the government who are actually in charge of national strategy for dealing with the virus then?

Yep, and I stand by it. For clarity, it is not an insult.

You need to look at the trends, one day means nothing and you seem to either go wild with happiness or completely fall to pieces depending on what one day says. Its not that simple and if you react wildly to every spike between now and the end of it then you'll end up having a nervous breakdown- thats what I am saying and if you want to find an insult in that then you go ahead, it is not meant that way. I have vape juice now, highly unlikely I'll be kicking off at people for a while

It was in response to a post about why are so many TFL workers dying from this virus, I gave the reasons why and linked to an article, all hell broke loose and suddenly I was being called all sorts.

I have been critical of the government many times during this, poor decision making from the start of this crisis. I affiliate with no party, I'm liberal thinking in some ways, gay marriage etc, and quite conserative on other issues, for example immigration. I didn't vote this election due to the poor choices of leadership, but I've warmed to Boris as he seems to truly want to make great things happen. As soon as Corbyn came out and gave his pronouns, he became unelectable for me. We need a strong leader and an even stronger leader of the opposition to get the best out of the leader. Both Johnson and Corbyn failed in this regard for me.

If you don't agree with my criticism of Kahn that's fine, but too make out hes the only target would be disingenuous.

Let's wait until today's figures come out so you can have another mood swing Dim.

I'm not point scoring I am stating facts. We're no doubt well over 10k dead in reality, it isn't point scoring to say this is abysmal for a couple of islands in the Atlantic. Especially when compared with other countries which have so far fared much better and have multiple land borders with other countries.

You need to take the Boris specs off and live with the decisions you make.
