Being reported that the Nightingale Hospital- that the NHS is being charged rent at £1-2m per week by the Abu Dhabi owners, no idea if that was public knowledge but seems a bit... ‘off’ if true.

I think she’s saying it’s not as bad as some are making out up there mate I’ve heard different reports some saying it’s rammed others saying it’s not overly much different to normal

People see and interpret situations differently don’t they,
Some are relaxed, calm and tend to adapt and take things in their stride.
And.
Some are dramatic and a bit prone to exaggerating things.
Whichever they are ‘they deserve a medal.

Good, and also good that people are posting stuff to clear up these things.

I saw Amir Khan this morning urging people to smash up 5G masts, and was there anything in this Brazilian coup?

Once a week is some dedication!!
I have a skin fade and long on top and it’s been 5 weeks, so it’s starting to look a mess, contemplating ordering some clippers now.

I pretty much have no hair left, old clippers all uneven made me look like I’d been the victim of a practical joke, so just told her to take it all off and I’ll start again. It’s a very strange feeling

I've gone grade 1 for a few years now, since it started thinning on top. Going to let it grow now and see how bad it really is. See if I can get a decent skullet growing before we're all allowed out again.

I make that 574 with the Scottish figures still to come. They might be delayed as the Scottish CMO has been a bit naughty.

Exactly the same as me, stick a bit of gel in the top. But I lost all patience with the volume and took it all off. It’ll be almost back to an original state in a fortnight anyway.

well I’m certainly no expert on Contagions ‘but from what I can make out we are probably
facing 3 stark choices.

1, we isolate totally until a credible vaccine is found, could take years.

2, we live as normal accepting the fact it’s basically a cull of the old and infirm + some
unfortunate others until a credible vaccine is found, could take years.

3, A mix of the two, with occasional lockdown’s as and when needed to relieve pressure on medical needs and equipment, until a credible vaccine is found, could take years.

I think we’ll kick off with No3 in an attempt to keep the economy ‘and life as we know it’ going with some semblance of normality, before moving on to No2 when reality tells us No3 is unsustainable.

My first thought was 2.

1, you just can’t see happening. That would be apocalyptic.

3 not being sustainable seemed a bit of an understatement. Repeated mass isolations I feel would be a train wreck.

Ever the optimist, I think that governments will have to select certain industries and set up ways for them to operate safely, and portions of people will be back to work sooner than we think. Also anyone with “immunity certificates” will be able to go back to work straight away, with continuing lockdown for portions, those groups are where the benefits go as some go back to work and no longer need them. I also think a vaccine will be ready a lot before the oft-quoted 18 months, every nation on the planet is working on it- the question will be how it’s distributed I guess.

might all be optimistic nonsense, but you have to assume that this is being planned right now, we wouldn’t know it and they won’t share it, but it will be. Nobody has anything to gain from watching the world come crashing to a halt yet again.

So it really is vaccine or bust isn’t it, everything else is like putting a plaster on it.

I do think a vaccine will be found more quickly than that, but probably would not ready to administer globally until next year.

It's okay talking of culling the old and the infirm, unless of course you are old or infirm.

You wouldn’t need to vaccine everyone- when you have a vaccine you are genuinely into possible herd immunity territory, it could work.

I would say stabilising mate but the number in critical care has reduced, which has been the best news since it started and a sign of improvement.

Wasn't that the government's first plan, to just "take it on the chin" until somebody told them 500,000 would die that way.

Swedish argument is that the input data UK advisers used was flawed when they came up with that number.
