He issues a range of graphs every day covering a variety of areas, there are a lot of variables. The original graph is up there in its glory every day- log scale was always the best way and still is.

And the data is inconsistent across all countries and not accurate over deaths so how can you compare countries with different measures?

That's basically the response I got when I raised it.

As always with these things you end up in a tricky position as an employee as if you push back too hard you're viewed as a troublemaker, particularly if some of the other furloughed staff are happy to do whatever they are told no questions asked.

Has anyone received one of the 33 million letters he said he was going to send out?

.. at a cost of £6m and telling everyone things they already knew?

Well thats fair enough, however what I can and am telling you is that HMRC will be using "every tool in their arsenal" to audit and check somewhere down the line. And those boys have some pretty serious tools in their box, speaking from bitter experience they use GCHQ to get hold of any emails they like and you'd never know it was happening (that was a much more serious issue than furlough tbf, but you don't fuck with HMRC!)

Not seen the interview you're referring to but aren't people mixing up different tests? The one people are angry about is testing to see if people currently have it. So you've got a quarter of NHS staff sat at home with symptoms who could be tested and if negative return straight to work.

I assume the test the '3 out of 4 wrong' is an antibody test which is what they are hoping to make available to the general public to take at home which will show if you've ever had it and if you have the theory is you would now be immune.

I just think the way in which we have gone about testing has been a complete failure and shambles

No he was referring to one of the testing agents that offered the swab test

The test being used now isn’t fully accurate as apparently some people were tested who clearly had it and it did not record as the disease as sometimes the disease is only located in the lungs

We had 2 months to prepare after the first cases were known and communicated. We ignored every single warning, and ignored all the events in all other countries. We knew what was coming in January, we even warned against travel to China. But we did nothing else, then you had the macabre exhibition in incompetence that was "take it on the chin", "let it rip through the country", "herd immunity". SInce then we have failed to test, failed to protect health workers, failed to lock down when recommended to, failed to procure equipment, lied and bullshitted about it every step of the way- they have failed in so many areas you'd be better off asking what they've got right. I guess building a giant hospital/ morgue is about the only thing in that category.

They knew in early January what this thing was and what it was likely going to do, they were told.

Failed to provide ventilators, PPE and testing.
Turned down several opportunities to procure at least the first two and lied about it daily.

can do - albeit you should probably take some proper advice from somebody who is qualified - but happy to discuss from what i have experienced (I may be missing something, so dont take 100 % without proper advice)

the IR35 rules on contractors albeit deferred is sort of linked to this also - albeit your situation should be clearer

I'm not 100% but he said there was a risk of sending doctor's back to the front line who had it so I assumed it was the one for NHS staff.

No, no, that isn't how these things work at all. Agreeing to take part in something like that would need ministerial and treasury approval. I know this government loves to blame everybody but the c**t ministers who are actually in charge, but it isn't scientists or civil servants who decide what the country does or doesn't do.

I need to fix a fence. But my div of a neighbour keeps trying to stand near me to talk whenever I go in the back garden so I’m currently hiding.

Not decisive enough in the instructions. Intead of asking people not to go to the pub from day one it should have been an enforcement for example.

Just read the following online from an article taken from the Guardian...

For much of the week, it’s been as if the government has gone out of its way to appear wilfully clueless. First, the psychotically unstable Dominic Raab, then the pathologically untrustworthy Michael Gove, culminating with the shambolically underprepared Alok Sharma.

Every time someone mentions the bias of the 'tory press' they need to remember there is bias the other way too!

Bizarrely the article went on to say 'Thank God for Matt Hancock'
