Anyone tried the supermarkets today? My parents are nearly out of food and in the high risk category so I'll have to go shopping for them tomorrow. Hope it has calmed down a bit. Already know if I don't get exactly what's on my Mums list she'll complain!

Yeah just been to my local Aldi, it was pretty decent and quiet as fuck. Still lacking bog roll etc but I got some essentials.
They've started selling Proper Job IPA at £1.49

Have you tried online delivery from Sainsbury’s? They’re prioritising delivery slots for the vulnerable. Even contacting them directly in many many cases.

Trying to get that sorted but there doesn't seem to me much detail on how to get them on it. Bit annoying as they're Sainsburys regulars so they have all their details (and by regulars I mean they go at the same time every week and buy the same things!).

That would be best and then with a bit of luck I can make do with the local store and not have to go to a supermarket while this is ongoing.

Quick google suggests that this is a known thing, not a new virus. Is difficult to transmit between humans and is nothing like coronavirus. Maybe not the time or place for scaremongering?

You may need to register your parents with Sainsbury’s in some way. The person I know who was contacted via email from Sainsbury’s has a nectar card and according to FP the NHS has shared details with Sainsbury’s (presumably other supermarkets too) of who is classed as vulnerable and self isolating for 12 weeks. I might be going at cross purposes but my assumption is that they’ve compared the NHS database with their own database and contacted people of the NHS list who they have contact details for. The email from Sainsbury’s came totally out the blue so I’m not sure how else they knew to contact her. Might be worth registering any vulnerable relatives for a nectar card if they aren’t already or if they have one but no email address try contacting Sainsbury’s direct and quote their nectar card number to see if they’ll offer an earlier slot.

But the implication was more viruses from the animal eating chinese. As Mr Blue Face says, it’s a common virus spread by animal droppings etc. There are literally millions of viruses. Very few cause the sorts of issues we are currently seeing. Nothing to see here...

Yeah, I braved a Tesco down here. Managed to get everything on my list apart from bog roll (seriously, where is it all). Bread was sold out but there was a proper load in the bakery section that seemed shut so even sorted that. Meat looked bare but that doesn't affect me.

I know a guy who thinks he knows all about alternative cures & was willing to try anything, so he started taking 2 tablets twice per day.

He’s now got a record and is banned from PC World for life

I like it

This lockdown does mean you get to spend more time with your family and rediscover the things you used to do.

Last night for example my wife and I watched 3 movies back to back. Luckily I was the one facing the TV.

Talking of coronavirus, with the lack of nurses I bought myself a big medical kit today. I just wanted to treat myself.

If your struggling to get stuff for your parents, PM me, and I’ll do all I can to source their needs locally, I’m in Warwick, so I can help by looking around the supermarkets here.

I tried my local Lidl yesterday. It was like those old clips about the Soviet Union with shopping and the shelves being bare.
