It's unbelievable. Just sheer ignorance. Absolute wankers the lot of them, how can they not see the severity of the situation?

Makes my blood boil.

I think we’ll have to have a lockdown purely based on the numbers of teenagers walking around the streets in groups.

There are quite a few roads in the country, looks like some are pretty busy. There is one hospital for 500,000 people in Cornwall and apparently they’re having to turn away caravans and holiday makers.

Situations like this weren't helped by the National Trust giving free entry to all their parks. They have now closed them all.

The trust intention was good but the strategy hopeless. They should have restricted to members only

For those in other countries- is U.K. any worse right now than other countries for flouting the advice and packing out markets, shops etc? Seems like Cov is quiet but you don’t have to look too hard to see pics and reports of big groups out in force like nothing is going on. Are we worse or is there a degree of sensationalism going on?

I doubt it’s any worse at all - I showed you the link of pubs staying open in the republic - didn’t you see them?

Im amazed how many people have suddenly adopted a right wing attitude to civil liberties and how little they are valued

It was just the same here but the rest of the country hadn't been told to avoid contact at that point.

I think food issues will ease - staffing was an issue I think and also the 24 hour opening. Restocking was as much an issue as anything else. Today the shops other than the usual strange items actually looked better and certainly more related to normality

hahaha, classic! I would rather help in stopping the spread of it by staying at home than being a selfish prick and running the risk of infecting someone who could actually die from the virus. It has nothing to do whatsoever with being for the erosion of civil liberties.

Well it does as staying at home with governmental advice is indeed the way. Action involving curfews, fines for being in a park is very much a removal of liberties. This current government want to put an act through parliament next week which I’m sure will include such measures. Along with many labour and Lib Dem’s I oppose it

According to my father in law the people of North Cyprus are taking it very seriously. They closed of the borders almost immediately, to such an extent it's very difficult even for their citizens to get back in. Unfortunately this happened while my mother in law was visiting so I'm stuck with a mother in law until further notice.

that article talked about 2 pubs, and It might be bad in Dublin perhaps but around here it’s pretty well observed tbh.

It’s nothing like it around here either, but I’m sure it’s probably worse up near Dublin. It’s a small population, maybe the sheer number of people makes it harder to handle in bigger countries. I can’t believe that all these people are just ignorant as to what’s going on, maybe panic spreads faster with more people- who knows.

Everyone sounds like a git on audio recordings.

I just got a learning plan for the week from my kids primary. All very reasonable and doable. Plenty of stuff they can do without supervision while I work as well. Looking forward to it.

What an unbelievably irresponsible thing for a newspaper to print when we're in the grip of panic buying.

No way these measures would be enforceable for that long anyway.

Just saw on the news, there are pubs in Scotland that have remained open. They have said they will remain open until it is illegal for them to do so. So Sturgeon is trying to rush through legislation.

What sort of fucking bellends are running these pubs ffs?

Germany is banning gatherings of more than two people in public.

But yeah we'll just carry on, stiff upper lip and all that.
