If we took the attitude to regular flu which is vaccinated against, then clearly it could go high .
Once the hospital's become submerged ,who knows.
All I know is it has the potential to leave my grandkids as orphans .
I don't think there has been enough guidance for parents with conditions ,IE there children in school etc .
Edit :-
It's the pneumonia that is killing folk , the vaccine likely prevents this follow on event in regular flu.

The main reason is that the football league insisted the last fixture every team plays at the same time. There are plenty of weekdays that can accommodate games between then if it was suspended for two weeks

Maybe we can just turn the promotion and relegation battles into a golden goal tournament?

If your wife tests positive and you attend a football match, you are part of the problem.

Yeah sorry if you have been in contact and go to a match you’re making it far more likely it’ll spread and far more likely games get called off. Watch it at home on iFollow.

It has to get to a level that justifies it. With no vaccine the most sensible option is to contain for as long as possinlevthen delay the epidemic until the warmer months when the flu virus is normally weaker and doesn't live as long.

It's warm but that is not the only issue in Iran. Poor health, hygiene and healthcare are far more of a factor but to scoff at the scientifically proven fact the flu virus apart from h1n1 lives for less time outside the body in warmer weather is clown like.

Where are those figures from? The Oxford vaccine group estimates an average of 600 per year with extreme years going into the 10000+ figures

At the moment they don’t know if the warm weather will slow infection. They are hoping to delay the peak of Coronavirus cases until the winter flu season slows down to free up hospital beds etc, but that’s because we know that flu has a seasonal element to it. It isn’t H1N1 (which isn’t a Coronavirus), so to draw conclusions based on a totally separate pathogen is also, how to say it — clown like?

Once more for the peanut gallery I see.

I did not say warm weather would definitely slow the virus. I said that is the plan based on previous flu virus pandemics.

I did not say it was N1H1 did I, I gave that as an example of a pathogen that spread fastest during the warmest months.

So Bonzo where's your tiny car

You seem like an angry man David. I never said you said that either. What I said was caution is needed when using a totally different pathogen to draw conclusions about Coronavirus. You are saying H1N1 spreads faster in warm weather? Incorrect.

If you must dish out the condescending insults in every response you don’t agree with, at least get your basic facts right or you look like a bit of a peanut yourself.

You said I was drawing conclusions passed on the n1h1 pathogen. I gave n1h1 as an example of a pathogen that has bucked the cold weather trend. The first wave and the deadly second wave in 1918 happened in summer and autumn.

But if you want to lie about what I said

If the season was extended / delayed, how would this work with contracts (etc)?
Don't the contracts usually end around 1st June?

Ok, you’re one of those that twists everything and sees what they want in things. Could you clarify where I lied please? I said caution should be used when using a totally separate pathogen to draw conclusions about Coronavirus. Not sure that’s calling you a liar, but whatever. The 1918 Spanish flu spanned the summer, but started in January. It is now considered seasonal.

Mate you are claiming I was using n1h1 as an example of flus that die in warm weather. The main first waves of n1h1 were in the summer and autumn. The deadliest was the 2nd wave which was in the late summer to autumn. Prior to summer the Spanish flu was considered seasonal.

I am not arguing well recorded historical facts with you chief.

Now back to matter at hand

Maybe reread what I said? All I said was comparisons are problematic. I never said H1N1 was or wasn’t anything in particular, the simple point I was making is that it isn’t Coronavirus or even in the same family of viruses and therefore may not be the best comparison. Lots of comparisons with various flu strains going around, but it isn’t a strain of flu. That is all.

He apparently met with the players the day before their last game.

I can see a lot of games being played behind closed doors very soon.

Read what I originally said. I simply used n1h1 as an example of a pathogen that didn't act as usually expected of a flu pandemic.

You jumped on this as you seemed to misunderstand what I actually said.

Say sorry and move on

Now that the Forest owner has Covid19, it doesnt take a huge leap of faith to a time when a player gets the virus.
If a players gets the virus, the whole club will presumably be on 14 day lockdown.
If more clubs then have cases too, the fixture list could decimated
