On the basis that every other pandemic in history hasn't lasted for ever at some point they will no longer be of any use.

The content of the article massively contradicts the headline, though it still remains good news when you look at the comparisons with last year.

Why on earth not? This is a real issue not a football argument - am I personally bothered by the anti vax nonsense - no I suppose not but I do know other people who do find it very unpleasant so I’ll continue to challenge the stance

What anti vaxx nonsense? You are the one that wants to make it fucking mandatory which is the most dangerous take I have seen on here.

My arguments have by and large been related to the effect of the virus and vaccine on different demographics. That includes highlighting obesity and the fact that young people are largely unaffected by the virus. Whenever something is posted along those lines it gets jumped on as conspiracy theories or often ignored depending on who is posting. We have lost all perspective of this virus and you are an extremely guilty example of that.

You stroll round this forum upsetting people yourself, and then you have the cheek to try and play all victimised because I called you out on your tripe. Give me a break.

Yeah, I've decided it's pointless even trying to isolate within our household if one of us catches it.

Both my daughter and I have it, but my wife hasn't. Not yet anyway and she is flying to Russia on Monday, so is desperately trying to avoid catching it.

I'm sure he did say he was vaccinated. He does talk utter bilge on this thread though.

So are you now admitting that you said it? Either way, your numbers are well off.

I´ve just downloaded the full 95 page report, you can find it here: ICNARC – Reports

"The percentage of paients admited to critcal care with confirmed COVID-19 that were unvaccinated
decreased from 75% in May 2021 to 47% in October 2021, consistent with the decreasing proporton
of the general populaton who were unvaccinated, before increasing again to 61% in December 2021
(Figure 27). Percentages that were unvaccinated varied by region, with the highest percentages in
London, the South West and North West (Figure 28)."

The other thing it goes on to say is that the age and body mass index is once again massive factors in what it causing people to be in ICU, and is more relevant for the overall picture than vaccination status. Again, if you are older or vulnerable, the vaccine is a massive life saver. If you are young and healthy, it is largely irrelevant and the numbers are so small too. Reference page 45, 60, 86 for the best information regarding vaccination status, age and BMI. You can see this information in many graph forms too, although the one FP posted is not in this report from what I can see, so I have no idea where it has come from given that it was this was the report from which it was supposed to be referenced from.

I would invite everyone to read that report. Hopefully in some cases it can put some people´s mind at rest too.

Just so we clear this up, I have had the Janssen (J&J) single dose.

I do believe in the freedom of the individual, yes, but that does not make me an anti-vaxx loon. Anyone that thinks that is either being deliberately antagonistic or has really lost all sight of perspective.

What about those already in there?

Stands to reason the unvaccinated are likely to require treatment for longer too so the 90% figure is still possible.

FYI, then.

Expert warns Janssen vaccine recipients have ‘practically no immunity’ from Omicron

A leading immunologist has argued that people aged 16-34-years who received the one-shot Janssen vaccine should be prioritised for walk-in boosters because they are at high-risk from waning immunity.

Okay, for everyone's information. I know not everyone has the same symptoms, but I thought maybe it might help people know what they might confront should they catch Covid.

Today is the first day I haven't had a really bad headache. This is after 15 days of constant, persistent bad headaches.

My other symptoms have been gingivitis, conjunctivitis, sore throat, fever, very mild, occasional cough (not full on at all), lethargy, breathing problems, achy jaw, aching back teeth in the lower jaw and it being really painful when I sneeze or blow my nose. Had a slight metallic taste in my mouth after food.

I slept loads.

Hopefully I have now seen the back of it, but as many of you know, it can come in waves, so I am not entirely convinced the symptoms won't come back.

Anyway, first day without any painkillers.

Good luck everyone. Stay safe.

Well it’s very good they you have started to feel mildly better

As you said before this is why people need the vaccine as it minimises symptoms and if you hadn’t had it then it could let’s be honest have been extremely serious

Also it throws out the obese argument

I know someone in her forties who got it having been fully jabbed and it was similar I spoke to her and she could barely breath

She is ok now

My PCR finally came back positive today.

I’ve had major (and I mean major) headaches, white spots on my tongue and it feels like I’ve burnt it. Aching joints and a slight cough. Also a massive appetite even though I can’t taste anything. It also comes in waves, it’s not been as bad as when I thought I had it way back in March 2020. Not had a fever or sweats or anything. And no breathing issues thank fuck.

And as above I’m not fat. Bored as fuck though. The whole experience has been shit.

2 jabs, no booster. Wish I got the booster earlier if I’m honest but couldn’t find a time with a couple of days after for potential recovery.

I had it mild AF but my breathing is still shite. Walked up a hill last week and it gave me a coughing fit. Can't do anything at the gym for more than a couple of minutes. Playing football next week so that'll be a laugh.

A friend of mine had Delta in September and she's a fitness model, now says she feels like she has asthma from it.

These are all after being vaxxed. Get the fucking jabs or it could be much worse.

Also, you may not be anti-vax yourself but questioning every minute detail when the issue has already been settled by the people qualified to deal with it is likely going to put off somebody that is reluctant.

Every message should be get vaccinated at all times.

This is your second go around isn't it?

Or did you not manage to get a test in the first wave?

Either way I hope you're alright.
