I'm saying they will rinse it for everything they can, while they can.

Not nearly as strange as you suggesting things that haven't been said.

Not wanting to burst any balloons but while the Omicron might be less severe it still causes a significant impact, 50% increase in hospitalisations in 3 weeks isn't to be sniffed at

If it's march it's going to be sneezing when going by fields as a symptom.

Booster will fix that until about June.

Pfizer won't want this to end. Guess they have settlements to pay.

Almost like the UK isn't the only country with Omicron

Pfizer aren't the ones identifying the new variants.

Most big pharma companies make their profits off non-infectious diseases, infectious ones like this they're only spending time on because of the enormous demand. As contagious stuff mostly affects developing countries and they're more difficult to combat due to mutations they usually don't give it much thought

I didn't say they were? They are still rinsing it as much as they can though.

"Protect the NHS" though.

They are a pharmaceutical company, what do you expect? They're just responding to market demands like any successful company does.

What's "protect the NHS" got to do with Pfizer?

What's the accuracy on the "variant" like now? Are they testing everybody to see which variant or just some?

Only a 5th of tests are checked for what variant it is. So whilst only 16k or whatever the number was are the official confirmed cases of Omicron, Whitty and co have already said it is the dominant strain.

So you'd expect it to account for around 4/5th's of cases ISH maybe more at the moment.

You were literally begging for the vaccine this time last year, but now they’re the baddies again?

Yes because things don't ever change. Goalposts haven't moved at all in a year.

Bit desperate?

Yeah, I'd imagine most posters had jumped opinions during this thread. How far back would you like me to go Nick?

Not really. All this moaning about the ‘goalposts moving’ around a brand new lockdown-ending vaccine is like a guy dying of thirst and then complaining when he gets served Pepsi instead of Coke.

Crying because you didn’t get the vaccine when everything was locked down, only to then claim that Pfizer was actually the boogeyman all along once things got back to normal for you is a bit pathetic imo.

They see people who need to be seen. My daughter had two same day appointments the other week after a telephone triage.

Only a couple of places, Ibiza and canaries this year. Both were far more vigilant with mask wearing. My point was that when people were asked to start wearing them in shops again here, nearly everyone did. Appreciate other countries have had far stricter guidelines during summer/autumn

What's the brand new lockdown ending vaccine? Is that the 5th or 6th?

Crying? Ok then

If you want to run your own message board where you spend the whole day seeding doubt about the vaccine, then go ahead, I’m sure you’ll make people proud. Just don’t pretend you weren’t gasping for it back when it was the only thing that could possibly get you back in the gym or the pub this time a year ago.

Oh so I'm not allowed an opinion and to have doubts then?
I'm not trying to make anybody proud.

To be fair, you're spouting more bullshit with stuff like "lockdown ending vaccine". Which one is that?

In this country, it was the Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca vaccines.

I can see you’re having another normal one.

There is no lockdown here Nick. Vaccines enabled the UK to lift restrictions in July, without them we'd be nowhere.
