If it ends up being Covid passes for pubs at least I can have a few jars in a Wetherspoons without some gimp on about 5G stinking of fags in my ear.

Yeah that's strange wording.

That's saying booster effective against covid symptoms are saying about omicron.

Looking at the data, the vaccines wanes over time in particular age groups. This was the time of the Govt's booster programme anyway,

They're just speeding up delivery.

If this is going to be enough, I don't think anyone knows until more data comes in.

Was at Stratford’s Christmas market this morning. Absolute bedlam, squeezing past people like HT at the Blues home away game in the FA cup.

This was at 11:00am and driving away the traffic to get into Stratford was backed up three miles. Lots of masks about but blimey, easy to see how it’s spreading so fast.

To be fair to the government this is the problem. That data isn't there at the moment and of course to get a decent amount of data to analyse they need a lot more people infected with the variant.

The time of the year isn't helping as they are clearly trying to avoid putting more restrictions in place over Xmas but they have to do something as the one thing that does seem pretty clear in the data is the variant is far more transmissible and infects people who have previously been infected or had two doses of vaccine. If they take the wait and see approach as they have done in the past by the time they have the data on hospitalisations and deaths if its turns out there is an issue it will be too late.

Of course the risk of going early is that they bring in restrictions that turn out to not be needed. My personal preference is that going early and then being able to relax restrictions is better than doing nothing and not acting until hospitalisations and deaths are already up.

It’s the non symptoms that are the problem. If you’ve got flu you are in bed fucked. But you can be absolutely fine with this and pass it on to someone’s nan and they are dead in 2 weeks.

Shows how much you know reinfection dont count towards numbers if test are within 6 months.
