If they expired in August COVAX would not have allowed them to be dispatched anyway even in June would they?

There's no mention of that in the article so no idea.

Found another article that said the UK had donated doses in August that were due to expire in September which would seem to indicate that donating the 600K in question back in May with an expiry of August wouldn't have been an issue but if the rules say otherwise then that's obviously why they were binned.

Hasn’t it been debunked as a hoax? Do any of the covid vaccines being used contain a weakened form of covid-19?

The shedding is bat shit insane what I meant was as a double jabbed phase 1 elite about to have booster I may not be as thoughtful about whether I’m asymptomatic m. That’s the only part I sort of understand.

On top of bureaucratic hurdles, there is also the issue of limited shelf life. COVAX generally only accepts doses with at least two months left before expiry. Vaccines nearing their use-by date can end up being destroyed, as happened with 385,000 doses delivered by COVAX thrown away between June and September 24, according to a document seen by POLITICO.

The concern around shelf life links to yet another conundrum: COVAX has been loath to receive doses directly from countries, stranding shots in EU warehouses. While it’s technically possible for EU countries to donate doses already handed over by the manufacturer, the threat to the integrity of the cold chain and expiry date concerns make this “very difficult to do,” said the development official.

Why on earth would you just hold on to doses until they expire when you've already decided not to use them?

Yeah, that’s not great but as has been suggested, it’s maybe not as simple as it first appears. we’ve also donated millions of doses and traded stock so countries without vaccines could get some earlier (Australia being an example). We funded Oxford development and helped secure a not for profit deal with AstraZeneca. Basically compared to a lot of developed nations we’ve done a decent amount for the greater good during the pandemic*

*certainly when compared to Macron, US/Pfizer etc

You were saying that lockdowns don't work. Tbf I'm now interested to hear what it is exactly that slowed and reversed the growth of the virus if it wasn't the lockdown measures?

You aren't going against anyone's way of thinking. You just don't seem to be able to comprehend basic facts.

Most of what I’ve said is taken from the ONS website in the past regarding death rates etc that I’ve mentioned - for some reason, most of you seem to have a mindset of not wanting to believe facts…which is what they are

The facts that vaccines save people and not being vaccinated places you at huge risk?

Exactly. I actually edited my post from when i first posted - I initially said that the natural selection would at least have some poetic justice if they weren't likely infecting everyone else.

But fuck me, reading those texts is tragic - how can you be some dumb? And this is why the dangerous misinformation (such as that spread by the idiot cousin who is IMO responsible for both of their deaths) should be called out by everyone and stopped. This "do your own research" and "i'm entitled to my opinion" is fucking bollocks when there are gullible idiots out there who are dying because of it.

Really?!? It was pretty good around here when I had to drop some things off a couple of weeks ago. I know they shouldn't have to, but surely that needs enforcing?

Yep....Just blatant.....Several young women who probably couldn't fit a mask over their ridiculous botox lips, a good handful of your usual scummy buggers who always seem to skulk about hospitals & one absolute balloon of a lad with a "Nike" mask hanging off his ear....

I was only in there for about 40mins for bloods too....

Been to Walsgrave a few times recently and its a joke. The main entrance in particular is a nightmare. They've put a one way system in place that everyone ignores and loads of people just stood around having a chat or not going anywhere that you've got to get past.

Would say only about 10% of tube users in London are distancing/wearing a mask. I don't usually wear one but felt like I needed too with the amount of people you pass/interact with.

Yep, I actually went into the office today for the first time in months. It was grim. I get it if you're on a quiet carriage with no one in but we're talking about rush hour.

I encountered this yesterday. Amazed that no one did anything about it. Also virtually no one wearing masks on London transport.

I was in for nearly four hours in because of a fracture. Probably about a half of people wearing masks.

Well Pete I'm afraid the majority can't be locked down to generally protect those that don't take the vaccine.

Over time immunity will slow spread so I doubt this number of deaths is sustainable over years.

Well if they don’t want to wear a mask it’s up to them - it’s not the law

Literally no one is enforcing it though. Its about as much use as a polite notice in a shop window.

The problem when you move the onus from government onto companies and organisations, innit. You get some deciding it's not a legal requirement, so fuck 'em (as an aside, it's not a legal requirement to give your kid a Christmas present, or be polite to your wife, but most people do do things that aren't a legal requirement for the sake of others) and the general messaging it gives out is it's all over.

But, you and I will be told we're scared soon if we carry on, so I'm out.
