With the relaxations today have you got anything positive planned? I've booked a table for dinner tonight. The family are all looking forward to it. Really hope we are on our way back.

Is there anything good on at the cinema? I really fancy it but not for Peter Rabbit 2.

Godzilla/Kong is available at the moment. I'm happy to watch something big and dumb like that at the minute. Nomadland, some Saw spin off thing called Spiral also out.

How come they’ve slowed down the rollout?

Hesitancy I’d guess. Read a bit about lots of hesitancy in heavily religious groups.

This suggests Arab-Israelis and Hasidic Jews have very low take up:Israel's COVID-19 Vaccination Rollout Is Slowing at a Critical Moment. That's a Warning for the Rest of Us

Double jabbed a decent number at least. Hopefully that same hesitancy won’t be shown here....maybe the Indian variant might be the kick up the arse some needed (always like to take at least a small positive out of a potentially shitty situation !)

And yet I thought you were also accusing the media of burying the exact same story? Based on the fact you can mysteriously no longer find an article which you definitely, definitely read?

Oranges and apples. You know that though.

The fact you think the media don't play the pandemic up shows just how out of touch you are.

I'm sorry, I can't and won't take media lessons from anyone who apologises for Peter Rabbit 2.

The latest overpromoted stuffed shirt cabinet member who did the rounds of TV studios today seemed to attack councils for doing what the PM announced on Friday?

Kwasi Kwarteng, the business secretary, was on TV and radio this morning as No 10’s minister for the media. Here are the main points from his interviews.

  • Kwarteng appeared to criticise health officials in Bolton for allowing young people to be vaccinated early. Asked about reports that they were vaccinating “anyone who wants it” in the town, and whether he approved of this approach, Kwarteng said:
No, I think the government has very clear guidelines in terms of the ordered way in which we roll out the vaccine.
That has been working and has been a very effective rollout, and we would suggest that people should do it in the correct order, in the right way.

  • He said he thought it was “very likely” that all coronavirus restrictions would be scrapped on 21 June, despite the threat of the Indian variant. Asked if he expected the full reopening to go ahead in England on 21 June, as proposed in the government’s roadmap for easing restrictions, he said:

Looking more and more likely it will be delayed.

Then the next variant that pops up, rinse and repeat.

I mean the second that a variant pops up that’s different enough to be resistant to the vaccine, we are fucked. Why don’t we do an Australia and just close the borders?

They should do. Close the pubs and other acts of socialising so we can go back to being a healthy nation.
