I'd be surprised if full disclosure was allowed by the terms of the contract anyway. Why does the UK need to disclose anything? The EU contractual problems with AZ are just that, fuck all to do with us.

'We had to go it alone': how the UK got ahead in the Covid vaccine race

Early partnership between Oxford and AstraZeneca, plus upfront funding, proved vital headstart
www.theguardian.com

All this is blowing the left/right/anti/pro/remain/leave stuff out of the water. Pull up a chair.

For what it's worth, for me, the Guardian has always been down the middle.

The AZ contract with the UK will be for vaccines to the UK.

How the UK decides to distribute the vaccine won't be covered by any NDA.

The SNP are an awful party who pretend to be progressive but what harm does it cause?

UK vaccine strategy 'paying off' as latest trials boost stockpiles

Pre-ordering of Janssen and Novavax means Britain has procured 247m successfully trialled jabs
www.theguardian.com

In total, the UK has procured 247m vaccine doses from companies with positive phase 3 results: roughly 3.7 jabs per person

Why won't it be covered by an NDA or otherwise by any general commercial confidentiality obligation?

What an arsehole. She's actually just like the brexiteers she hates. It would be brilliant to see how exposed she would be should they gain independence.

BTW, I have absolutely nothing against independent Scotland conceptually but I don't believe her or the rest of the SNP are good faith actors.

They are as guilty of corruption, centralising of powers, general incompetence and so on as anyone else. Just a microcosm of British nationalism and an attempt (seemingly successful) to divide people on the same island for no real reason

You've got to give it to the European Commission for yesterday.

Never have we seen the main political parties in Northern Ireland, and the Irish and UK Governments, so united, so quickly, in agreement about something before.

For bringing groups of people together on a particular subject it really was a first.

Missus had her weekly call with her parents last night, all in Dutch but managed to catch “why aren’t you guys giving us the vaccine??” (In a jokey way), but interesting to hear how it’s seen from the other side.

To be honest with all the other vaccines coming on line now I’d be tempted to do a bit of good old concern trolling and offer it for humanitarian reasons if they need it. “U.K. always happy to help out struggling nations” sort of thing.

They’ve been unbelievably petty.

Because the contract would very like as per other examples be for delivery to the UK and not specify how they are shared out amongst the UK.

I.e. the AZ/EU contract only talked about the supply to EU not which countries would get them.

couldn't sleep last night and was lying awake thinking about all sorts of shit.

I realised as much as I hate the tory party I'd never fall out with someone because they voted tory.
I disagree with Brexit but I'd never fall out with someone who voted for it.

But I don't think I can have anything to do with someone who's a covid denier, some of the shit I've read makes my fucking blood boil. Imagine trying to deal with losing family members to this shit and having to hear people saying that?

On the same level as cunts like Alex Jones saying mass shootings were fake and his crack pot followers driving grieving parents to take their own lives.
Absolute vermin.

Yeah, ultimately if we're all vaccinated, but other countries carry on, developing all manner of variants, it doesn't help us long term.

So we need to be the bigger (wo)men, and take the PR win, which is in our interest anyway.

He's the weirdo that said Arlene Foster was delighted by the EU trade deal 1 dfay before her party voted against it.

Truth and reality isn't a strong point for him.

Why would I?
I don’t think any leader could predict what’s happening or do any better tbh.
Yes Boris has been slow I agree.

Lots of leaders did a lot better.
Forget the death toll, what about the cronyism? 22 billion for track and trace. The person responsible for the biggest data breach in UK history put in charge.
If you want to complain about it, guess who handles the complaint, her husband. If you're okay with that then fair play, they'll be delighted to hear it knowing that they'll get away with their next scam as well.

stand alone countries can't get into trade wars with the EU, the States or China because they won't win.
I actually think Johnson has been the most mature I've seen him this week and he's seems to have kept a lid on the crack pots in his party regarding this issue as well.

Every leader has done better. We have the highest death rate in the world. Killed more in the second wave than we did the first because “we” learned the sum total of fuck all from the first wave.

Boris’ best is the worst in the world. It really is that simple.

The internal full out between member states and EU is going to be massive.

They will all play happy families in the media. But the knifes will be out for UVDL.

But in other news as so much happens yesterday. Novavax looks a really exciting and game changing vaccine.
