Boris press conference at 5.

I see we will be able to administer around 2 million vaccines a week from Monday, the end is very much in sight.

Yes so instead of the Government giving contracts to their mates and pissing billions away.

Get on the phone to people who can make fridges / devices suitable and get one ordered for every chemist in advance. It was known months ago about the temperature stuff. Get all hands on deck.

It all just seems bollocks, no preparation and everything done step by step rather than having things in place ready. Could have had storage solutions being implemented over the past couple of months.

probably one thing this government has got right throughout this shit show is pre-ordering a shit load of this vaccine and putting the vaccine program in the hands of the health care professionals.
Obviously, it would be naïve to thnk things can't go tits up but I'm confident the end is in sight.

why do you expect everyone who works in the NHS to be nose to the grindstone while so many of us spend hours of our working lives fucking about on here. You may not read the Mail but you've been indoctrinated with their bollocks somewhere along the line.

And old Doris's arm deserves as much attention as anyone else.

I don't need the Daily Mail to form an impression about GPs. I am just using what I have seen first hand (or not seen in some cases).

Maybe if they learnt to deal with the old doris' rather than than wasting so much time dealing with them then things like mental health might get dealt with a bit better.

that extra million per week will make a massive amount of difference, hopefully it's true mate, that would be fantastic news.

teachers blah blah blah, nurses, blah blah blah, GPs blah blah blah. Every Mail reader is a fucking expert on what they should be doing and what they're doing wrong.

My one experience of going to the doctors in the last 20 years was taking my son and waiting for 1 hour 45 minutes and that was with an appointment. Purely anecdotal and I’m sure it’s not always like that though.

mental health is a real issue. Just because some people fake it on social media(which is annoying) doesnt mean lots dont truly suffer from it and it hinders their life jist as much as physical disease.

Yeah every GP wont be the same but sometimes it is pointless even bothering. Especially when it comes to things like mental health etc.

As I've said, I have seen a GP humour an old woman with a sore arm for longer than it took him to prescribe anti depressants. I was in to see the doctor and out with a prescription within 2 or 3 minutes and I doubt he could even tell you anything I told him. Not interested in the slightest.

With things like that, it's no wonder people don't bother or get put off. Even before the pandemic it was 3 or 4 weeks to get an appointment unless you wanted to take a day off work to wait down there.

I hope eventually vaccines are more available than having to deal with a GP / surgery.

More recently the GP rang me about a prescription issue, I said I think there's an issue with the medication because some days I can't physically move. It really knocks me about.

Their answer "It sounds like you have COVID".

"But it's only started since you gave me this"

"It sounds like COVID symptoms, you should get tested and let me know in a few weeks"

Yeah, it wasn't COVID.

Oh, I only knew it was about her arm because she was on first name terms with everybody in there so made a point of telling every receptionist about her issues. The doctor didn't tell me.

There is that, some GPs will be great but others I wouldn't trust to push a vaccine out to their patients.

I'd rather let some of you c**ts throw darts at me with it in.

My GPS are pretty good tbh. Always sort the issue

However getting an appointment is ridiculous. If you dont ring in first 45 seconds of line opening every appointment is gone. And they wont book in advance.

So weird

Then old Doris may have had a mental health issue that meant she needed to talk to someone, you can never know the true story.

However I do know for a fact that things are in place in Rugby and vaccinations are going ahead already for the vulnerable and elderly. Yep they are being run by GP surgeries with one being the main lead, currently the vaccination clinic is not an any of the surgeries. Other surgeries are taking it in turns to run the clinics with all staff (yes all staff) expected to put in extra hours either at clinic or back in the surgery to cover.

Bedworth civic hall is set to be an immunisation centre. I imagine it’ll be done in village halls and large spaces.

They could use the Ricoh Arena (is it still called that) but Wasps should not be allowed to charge rent of the space, it has plenty of car parking etc.

The BBC rolling news feed says the factory that has been setup to produce the vaccine has capacity for 250 million doses a year. That's 4.8m a week so way above the 1m people a week we are aiming to vaccinate. Hopefully that will mean we won't hit issues with vaccine availability.

We've ordered 100 million doses so if we hit anywhere near the production numbers they are saying we should have enough doses to cover the 1m vaccinations a week target.

Would be quicker just to say who isn't in tier 4! Is there any difference between what you're allowed to do in tier 4 and what was allowed in national lockdown?
