As long as there's an 'emergency breake' the owners can pull if the boards decisions would put the club at risk - yes, I think it would benefit the owners to share the responsibility with the fans. Any flak given for selling the potential superstar to Liverpool would be directed towards the fans rep.
I think because the fans trust was the only option for Pompey after the other bidders pulled out. They are also backed by several wealthy businessmen and a had a huge loan from Portsmouth Council so it's more fan-fronted than fan ownership in truth. Plus it remains to be seen how well it will work for them, it could all still go belly up.
Seeing as im coming under a lot of criticism ill make my point a little clearer.
1) SISU/OTIUM have proved to the Football League that they have funds to put an initial £10,000,000 into a stadium.
2) SISU/OTIUM have proved that they can finance the capital loss while we groundshare with Northampton.
If they can prove that, then the NOPM campaign is really falling on deaf ears. If that has been proved then all the NOPM campaign is doing is jeopardising the chances of a return to Coventry as all it will achieve is probably cut into the money which was intended to be used for the stadium, thus increasing the chances of the club franchising and moving to a different location.
SISU have had many opportunities to sell the club and cut their own losses. None of which they have taken.
What makes anyone think that having no revenue will make them sell up? By the end of the initial 3 year period our fan base will have plummeted to levels never seen by CCFC. Does anyone think that after these 3 years they will just have a change of heart and decide now is the best opportunity to sell after covering further losses? The alternative is to relocate. Im not saying permanently to Northampton but somewhere else around the country is viable. They could easily look at the MK situation and view that as a success. (league one club, own stadium, undisgruntled fanbase)
3) Majority of fans wanted an investigation into accounts etc.. after CCFC LTD was liquidated.
Im not suggesting we try and by SISU out or become a majority shareholder by any means. All it takes is a minority share enough to get onto the board. With this comes; 1) a greater level of transparency into everything at the club, 2) Personal leverage and the chance to make our collective voices heard properly, rather than standing with placards outside their HQ.
We have proven that protests, demonstrations etc have no impact whatsoever on the way in which SISU operate. Do you want to carry on doing the same thing that and hope something different happens? You have to change an action to merit a different response.
If you all want to carry on with standing outside SISU HQ or want to tie ribbons around the city then carry on and carry on with NOPM then carry on. Coventry City will never come home.
SISU have maintained that the club isnt for sale. This much we know for a fact. What im wandering is how realistic would it be for CCFC fans to put a consortium together and make an offer for a stake in the club?
It looks to me that SISU will not be selling up any time soon, so we have to work with what we have got and the situation we are presented with. I do not think that we will be able to starve them out (as much as Id like to ) with proof of funds for a stadium, cover losses while we are in Northampton and the absolute reluctance to sell i cannot see them going anywhere.
I think we should test Fisher and see if he and SISU have any care for what the fans think and what we have to bring to the table. We would be backed by the media, other clubs and more importantly I imagine the Football League would back it aswell.
IF we tabled a serious offer for a part stake in the club this would give us leverage and a certain level of transparency on the running of the club. We cant beat them, I think its time to join them at the top and see where it goes.
How much do you think this would cost collectively? And do you think there is a possibility of attracting enough supporters of this to be a serious option?

While I admire your positivity and endevour, I don't believe either of these objectives would be achieved. Maybe the first in part but the second not at all. A hedge fund will never allow a bunch of lay people any say in it's business. Lip service is the best we will ever get. I am sorry to appear negative but in this case I feel am purely a realist.
