I’m typing this through gritted teeth, but I just wanted to congratulate you on your victory today and wish you all the best for next season.

Our manager lost us the game with his team selection - not enough pace and one up front. He’s such a cautious fucker, it winds me right up and I hope he leaves us tomorrow.

That said, I can’t take anything away from you guys - you played with pace and purpose and thoroughly deserved to win. Second was a bit lucky with the deflection, but it was no more than you deserved, and your other two goals were outstanding.

Magnificent following too - you made quite a racket.

Well done, please beat argyle twice for us next season.

    See you soon (hopefully).

    FBH.

Fair play Fred, I had something similar drafted ready to display.
We caught you cold (they caught me cold!) early doors 2nd half. Always gonna be a struggle for you after that.
I can honestly say if you had beaten us today it would have been by a decent footballing side, not the dross both of us despatched in the semis.
Consolation? You're all going back to a far, far nicer part of the country than Coventry!
    Sincerely, good luck next season.
We may meet again (at the 'right' level.)

Looks Like Fred Binney's headed back to league two.
Good luck next year. Your team played a big part in a good game of football. If it had been Notts county v Lincoln it would have been like watching tennis.

Nervous throughout until we scored. Then I thought no way back for you.

I DID feel for you before even the start...how harsh it is to get there twice & dip out at the final hurdle - just feel rather you than me feeling shit right now. Hope Exeter go on to bigger & better regardless of what we do.

Exeter are going places. Hugely impressed with the job they did on Lincoln in the semis. Hopefully they'll get automatic promotion next year because by now they must hate the play-offs. A decent club who play football the right way.

    Good luck for next season.

Just wanted to add that I thought the Coventry fans were class today, especially around the stadium before the match. Great to see a big support turn out at this level.

Good luck next season and I hope you get everything sorted off the field as well as spanking Argyle for us.

My young daughter didn’t like the Coventry fans today as their songs didn’t make sense - she couldn’t understand why someone would want to sit on a villa (as in a holiday apartment). I told her she’d got it ever so slightly wrong.

She also didn’t like us getting boo’d and shouted at as we walked through a load of Coventry fans between Wembley Central and the ground - made her cry :(

    Nasty Coventry fans!

Apologies on behalf of all decent fans. A bit of banter during the match is fair game, but everyone should be able to shake hands/share a pint before/ after the match and be friendly to each other.

On another note, your team are a breath of fresh air in this league, please don't change the way you play. Exeter and Coventry in the final was a victory for football over hoof ball. Hope you win the league next year!

Hats of to you FBH, have thoroughly enjoyed having you about the place in the build up and very gracious of you to drop by afterwards. I echo Pete's sentiments as well, was taken aback by a few Exeter fans outside the ground afterwards who stood and watched us stream past celebrating and stopped to give us a clap. Must have been hard to take but a classy and endearing gesture.

Best of luck for next season, hopefully the managerial position gets sorted and doesn't affect you too much. Push for the autos!
