Look with lampard there is absolutely no doubt he has a fantastic footballing brain and is a very clever man .

The issue is wether he can get that across to the players and make them play better and motivate them .

Hopefully he can

Our rep as a club is taking a bit of a battering for this from the wider footballing community though, judging by the amount of messages I’m getting from non-Cov fans laughing at this appointment. Let’s hope he can shut them all up 🤞

"wider Football Community", like who?

As fans we’ve gone from being the plucky underdogs to being expectant fans. With robins at the helm the wider footballing community were always going to see us as underdogs.

with lampard now it’s clear we are being launched into another stratosphere in regards to how we are seen by the wider community.

If he is successful we will be seen as much more of a powerhouse than we would under robins

Underwhelmed, because I didn't want Robins to go and once he had gone, it was only acceptable if we could find someone as good as Robins, if not better

Not convinced Lampard is the answer.
Fair enough, but what if that was as far as we got with robins ? Nobody really wanted him to go, have a look at l first interview, impressive already , hope he gets a chance to do what he’s said,

He improved himself unbelievably as a player from what he was at West Ham to what he became at Chelsea, but that's his own mindset. How do you try and make others have the same mindset?

The problem is Robins still wanted us to be seen as underdogs but when you know how much we've spent it starts to wear a bit thin.
He'll probably go and help rebuild another club and good luck to him, i think it suits him better.

He’s not gonna say it’s unbalanced is he
I think it is fairly balanced, apart from being a CM short. We can switch formations easily, 2 left footed CBs / 2 right footed CBs. Haven't seen many players playing way out of position this season e.g Eccles at RWB, Dabo, Sheaf or Bidwell at CB (all happended in recent times).

“the defence is particularly shit. I’m already speaking to replacements for some of the cart horses we’re carrying”
Hope he's at least thinking that even if he won't say it.

Show them the payslip of an average Premier League player?

Lampards either gonna be a master stroke or a disaster.

either way it’ll be exciting, and more exciting than if we appointed someone like Eustace

We're not being launched into another stratosphere mate.

You’re not a fan are you?

I was a fan of Robins, I will be a fan of Lampard.

This forum is full of blame against Robins, various coaches, King etc.
Yet those who are actually responsible for getting results seem to get off Scot free.

IMO this team took advantage of Robins’ calm nature. I’d now like to see a boot up their arse when they put in inconsistent levels of effort

Well the performance against Derby wasn’t one that suggested they wanted him to stay
Spot on , the drop off in performances was shocking, whatever that was down to wasn’t improving, think we’ll get a team with lampard that won’t be allowed to do that, high pressing attacking football, but needs that from the players every game, can’t let performances drop off like they have been , roll on Saturday

Maybe not another stratosphere, but certainly getting us significantly more attention.

appointing Eustace would have hardly got us on the front page of BBC sport, let alone on Sky news.

I wouldn't have had him if it was my choice, but it isn't, so, just have to support him. Comes across well in the video the club have posted up. Should be able to attract a better quality loan now, no reason we can't be pushing play offs by the end of the season.

Yeah, I know. Maybe Robins HAD taken us as far as he could.

I guess we will never know.

Lampard speaks well, so fingers crossed. 🤞

That's on paper. Doesn't always reflect in performances.

Not really too bothered about media coverage. Be succesful and it will follow.
I would rather have lampard over eustace though.

Don’t know how else to word it? General football fans?

It was mostly based on the banter I’ve been getting from non-Cov supporting friends but I guess have a quick look at social media too (attached as an example seeing as you asked). He’s definitely a bit of a “meme”. Anyway, let’s hope he proves them all wrong 💪

Not at all sure what to make of this. Was very clear at the forum that he’s not a football man and was seeking guidance from elsewhere, seemingly that guidance wasn’t internal…

Don’t get me wrong I wanted robins to stay. But I can understand why King has appointed Lampard, particularly from a commercial sense
