We need a ticket office and shop at the Ricoh like we used to have.

Not sure we do. Would make sense if we owned the ground and it wasn't costing us anything. Whenever I went up to the shop or ticket office at the Ricoh it was like a ghost town. People would have to make a special trip to go there.

It would have been nicer to get a bigger unit at the Tesco though

Moan moan moan.

What do you want from a club shop? The training wear from Nike and the jackets are very good. Bought a training top for my dad.

As for the badges are on wonky that's the first ive ever heard or seen from it.

Whenever I've been to any of the various club shops they've always been deserted. Makes sense to downsize if the bigger shop does not have the required income. The merchandising of it could be vastly improved though, it looks like a temporary shop.

Also, ticket collection seems easy enough from the Ricoh on match days.

Agree on the p&p charges though.

Would be nice to be able to purchase tickets without a 10 minute wait for the " system" to sort itself out for each transaction wouldn't it.
Couldn't tell you what a Fk-up has been made of our memberships with them at one stage even denying that we both had paid and joined - good job I'd kept the receipt - Even now they have the wrong membership numbers written on our match package tickets.
I have asked the question of what will happen if we are in the play offs and get to Wembley with 30/40,000 wanting tickets.... "the club will have to sort it out" is the reply. That's the problem really isn't it......CCFC dont run the shop.

With a team to be proud off and a bit of success. A skyblue shop in the city centre woukd make a lot more money than the current set up. IMO
The pick up by passing trade would outweigh the costs. It's a shame we have missed the xmas opportunity. Who knows maybe next season.

He is on about the dedicated store we had.
To be honest I believe the rent is very high so you do need a good turnover.

Just need more items on sale in the current shop after all you don't need to put out all the shirts you have one of each size replenish as they are sold will give you room for other things to sell.
Need more tee shirts for people like me who don't wear football shirts but want to show who they support.

Does Cov Rugby have a shop? Or the Blaze?

Couldn't we all get together and have some kind of Cov Sports Superstore?

Don't believe Cov Rugby have a shop mostly on line the Blaze did have one in the City Centre which has closed down not sure if it has moved somewhere else.

The superstore idea has been mentioned to the club over 3 years ago obviously didn't like it.

They put out some "arty" t shirts like this : http://ccfc.clubstore.co.uk/cc-7375-c-o-v--tee

I much prefer a simple polo though - http://ccfc.clubstore.co.uk/cc-5657-squad-14-polo-adult - or http://ccfc.clubstore.co.uk/cc-5639-essentials-pique-polo or http://ccfc.clubstore.co.uk/cc-5641-essentials-t-shirt

Last one isn't bad.

Didn't the Blaze have one that was also a general ice sports shop as well? As with our city centre store closed down as it wasn't making enough and now is done online and at games.

With regard to ticketing they know it is an issue:

Chris Anderson said:
I think there’s been a lot of frustration about the difficulties we’ve had with the ticketing system. We’re completely aware and we’re straightening those out as we speak. We’ve improved the internet connection at Butts Park, we’re working on making sure the software connects properly between systems. It’s the stuff that will bore you to tears but hopefully it will make life easier for supporters to have the opportunity to come. We’re also exploring other options with different providers to provide ticketing services going forward. We’re just trying to get it right to make it practical and serviceable for people.

Sounds like a case of patch it up as best we can this season and then replace it over the summer.

Cov rugby do have a shop at the side of the pitch on match days in a large porta cabin. Rest of the time it is on line. Their stock range is limited but of good quality at reasonable prices. A good set up for size of club and attendance levels.

There would be no justification for having a shop in the centre

Revenue

The justification for everything....

Like a proper capacity on a stadium and as you start to see an increase in attendances that comes with a proper team in the pitch.

Decent team in the pitch demand for everything goes up. You need to be able to provide the supply to meet the demand and maximise yoyr opportunity.

None of what you have said would justify a city centre shop.

It is a shame the previous ceo let everything go and now we don't know how much the club even gets of the profit % wise, as I have bought a couple of training tops for my oldest boy who is 4 and £20 each was a bit steep but I would be hoping at least 25% of that is going to the club as it is probably £10 overpriced.

How about a permanent CCFC exhibit at the Herbert and a small shop / ticket outlet to go along with it.

Better performance on pitch = increase in interest/attendances.
Town increase in passing trade = increase in sales if it outweighs the rent = increase in profit.

Also we can still have a hut at tescos

So I assume you have done an optimization study to analyse the location in town centre which has greater footfall than arena park and have researched the consumers in that area to demonstrate sufficient interest in passing trade? In addition I assume you know the rental costs and can balance than on a footfall conversion rate to likely revenue?

Care to share these results?

it would have to be in primark as most people seem to be carrying bags from that crappy store.

My youngest wants a flag to wave next time we go to watch. Had a look at the online shop on the clubs website but couldn't see any. Is there any in the shop does anyone know?

The biggest concentration of footfall for Coventry City fans is match day. Arena Park also has a good weekday footfall. It makes sense to have a good retail outlast there while we play at the Ricoh. A good mobile unit would be successful, one which could set up in the city centre and utilise occasional events like the Godiva festival.

Scarf is probably the best you'd get in the shop

Sorry don but you're talking rubbish here. Arena park and tesco has huge football, a city centre shop wouldn't have a significantly increase in sales.

You're not allowed to flag wave at the football are you?
