Rob Gurney

I don't like saying "I told you so" about anything, but in Jack Rudoni's case, I'll make an exception – "I told you so!"

Regular consumers of our content on BBC CWR will know I was advocating signing him long before the Sky Blues got the then 22-year-old to put pen to paper last June.”

I miss Garth Crooks. Watching hom going down a punditry cul-de-sac was hilarious and a work of art in itself. Made Murphy, Shearer and Keown look competent!
The Alistair Mcgowan sketch was brilliant of him. I cant find it anywhere online unfortunately 😔

Didn't try very hard - it's on one of the first videos I looked for (around the 7:30 mark)

His impression of Sven was brilliant

Shame about the Huw Edwards bit :ROFLMAO:

Wasn't McGowan one of our own?

Keown annoys the hell out of me - so gormless plus there's something odd/creepy about him - gives me serial killer vibes
I think it's the Villa connection 😉

I thought something like that would happen... either that or he would have spontaneously combusted!

At least Pato gives Lorna Bailey a life raft to cling onto... I'm guessing she won't be pally with the drummer any more... but then again, it is the BBC!
Don’t worry-some other lanyarder will get the gig in his place.

Rob clearly loves Coventry City and he lets his heart rule his head at times which clearly isn’t professional but can be quite endearing as a City fan. Whether he is around next season who knows but you clearly don’t need Clive, Rob and Oggy all covering the match And Clive does the difficult bit which is the in match commentary, but that said this is the BBC so they will probably add another in !

At one point Gurney was explaining to Oggy the reference as its not a Cobb or a Roll

Only in Coventry its a batch - which is not even accurate

Are they all freelance / part time? Surely it can't be a full time job?

Clive I assume is full time as he commentates on cricket as well

Pretty sure Clive does other stuff at CWR and Clive & Rob both do commentary for Warwickshire over the summer on the BBC website which is pretty much a full time gig for that part of the year.

Oh it was van Basten
"There's some people on the pitch. They think it's all over... oh well, that IS a goal and now 4-2 against the East Germans, but I still make it there's 1 and a half mins left."

To be fair to Clive, Murray Walker made a career out of doing that kind of thing, and he's rightly globally lauded as one of the greatest sports commentators of all time.

Still astounded how he managed to firstly confuse two players of very different ethnicities and secondly why did he think our right back would be charging in from the left hand side of the penalty box?
