Whether or not it comes off or whether it offers value for money if it does, I’m at least happy that Lampard has identified it’s the back line and not the forwards that are most in need of big investment.

Anyway it's time to flick the switch and get off the negative vibes we're giving off and blindly back the team no matter who they are.

Sky reporting we’ve had a £7m offer rejected??!

This is the problem, we may have money to spend on a player but do they want to sell and does the player want to sign for us.

This is where football is at and where it is going now, clubs spending bigger amounts on players, stretching payments over many years. Blackpool are about to sign someone for 1m, they are mid table league one! Derby and spending a lot all of a sudden. 10m in the grand scheme of things isn't big money.

We have to look at it as an appreciating asset...the scouting department is key..Its our model. Doesnt matfer what price. If hes going to be worth £20m plus in a year or 2.

It's doesnt matter as much to be left footed in a back 4.
I would say it does matter as both fullbacks play really high in possession, the two CBs tend to split and Grimes drops into the middle. The pass from Kitching to BTA which put him though can only be played by a left footer.

I still have memories of Rose looking really uncomfortable playing left CB, and when Lati has covered on the left he's constantly had to cut back and play to Thomas

So it seems Hughes can play both sides. Genuinely wouldn’t shock me if he’s earmarked to play alongside Kitching.

I'm more surprised we're not linked with a CF. Lampard clearly didn't trust Simms in our biggest two games after a horrific run of form. I don't see what's changed and expected him gone, yet he appears to be in the plans again.
