Absolute class operator. Will go down as one of our clubs greatest names and deservedly so. I just hope he understands how much of what we are now is because of what he did. Second only to Jimmy Hill, in my opinion, and maybe Frank keeping us up next season will change that, but mark is and will forever be a legend at this club.

MR made us a club that was attractive to a decent owner . He dragged us up from the gutter and performed miracles to get us to the point where we could challenge for the ultimate goal. I sincerely hope that he feels very proud of where he took us to. I doubt in the circumstances whether there was anyone else who could have achieved what he did FL has taken us to the next level which wouldn't have been possible without the contribution which proceeded it.

Robins is the modern day Hill, with Lampard being the modern day Cantwell

You could stop at the first bit, he made us into a club. Before Robins we were like the brown, sickly houseplant in the bathroom. Clinging to life.

He still absolutely deserves his statue. I'd hope the club have got eyes on that - and in some way honouring him once we make it up.

This past 18 months just don't even happen without him.

Having thought about this , he should have a stand named after him .

Mum emotional that her dad wasn’t alive to see it, me emotional thinking about potential top flight games with my lad in the future!
The latter thought is a beautiful one. Until your comment, I hadn’t thought about my grandad - he’d have been happy to see us up and he was the the single person responsible for getting me to support Cov.

Anyway, enough about the past, you get to share a wonderful thing any dad/mum gets to experience; walking up into the stands of the CBS for their first (of many) game…

My grandad is where my love for football first came from too. Someone who grew up in the football mad North East, shared stories of going to watch Dortmund and Schalke when he was in Germany with the army…had all his football idols and so on. He took to CCFC when he moved down here and got hooked.

My first thought was of my lad, my second of grandad.
