Main problem is they never give anyone a chance long-term to implement their ideas.
This season feels a bit different to the others though, injuries and fitness issues have been on another level. Robins seemingly has run players into the ground and not really used his squad.

Resorting to Sorba Thomas at RB kind of sums it up.

Middlesbrough last 3 stats. 0 wins, 1 goal, Xg of 6.62. More teams proving Xg to be absolute turd again

To be fair they are the best footballing side in the league and QPR’s manager said they were the best team they’ve played all season. Least they’ve got that eh

xG over a period of time generally proves what the rest of the team are doing before it gets to the strikers to put them in those goalscoring positions, nothing more.

If a side greatly exceeds their xG, it often means the rest of the side are mediocre, but their strikers are the dogs'bollocks, eg Hull.

If a side hits greatly under their xG, it often means the rest of the side are brilliant, but the strikers are turds, eg us.

Maximum Ipswich can now reach is 93 points. They still have Boro, Norwich, and Southampton to play who are either in good form or also chasing autos so, much to play for. Its HIGHLY unlikely they will win all their remaining games, but should they do so, we would need a minimum of 4 wins and 1 draw to reach 93 points and hopefully GD should do it. 2 wins from our next 3 would be huge! And id say would pretty much do it. But on the off chance they do get to 93 points, where do we see our 4 needed wins coming from (1 at home to Wednesday you'd think so 3 more needed).

We dont need 4 wins, you can bookmark this. We need 2 and a draw or 2

No way 2 of the chasing pack get 88/89. Our goal difference is worth a point too

Plus Ipswich have too many games all squeezed into such a small amount of time. That's a huge factor too.
They’ve also got 5 away games, including 3 on the bounce at the end of April, and they’ve lost a third of all their away games so far this season.

They’re tracking as an Upper Mid table team away from home so far this season. Which is bizarre as they’re the best side I’ve seen come to the CBS this season, though I think that was combined with playing us at the best time (injuries, illness, fixture pile up, small squad)

I agree we dont need 4 wins. 2 i think does it. 3 makes it comfortable. Im just saying, very worst case (VERY worst case) we need 4 and a draw.

No we don’t. We need 11 to be mathematically sure at this point.

Sky sports reported it in the match yesterday that we only need 14 points to confirm. Since we won, only 11 left
That doesnt even make sense. Ipswich still have 24 points available to play for. IF they take all 24 of those available that would give them 93 points. If we only take the 11 that you, Lee, and Sky seem to think would be enough, we'd only be on 91. Sky sports maths! Top notch!

I think its 91 guarantees promotion. If Ipswich win all their games then Boro cant get to 91

It’s for guaranteed promotion. You’re overlooking that Boro have to play Ipswich. If Ipswich win all their remaining games, then Boro can only get to 89.

I'm not saying we're the best team in the league but I think we're in the top one.

2 more wins and a draw i think gains promotion. Anything over that we win the league. The 2 wins could be next 2 home games and the draw at Hull would take us to Blackburn away. That is where i think things will become very clear and have had that game in my head for a while.

Lets see but i want to win the league now where as before promotion was more important.
