I think today's game will just be looked back on as one of those frustrating irrelevances when we're lifting the trophy. Today's results are again ok, these teams are simply not consistent enough to catch us, especially with games running out.
Can you please tell that to entirely irrational, pessimistic part of my brain that keeps saying ‘well we might lose every game and Ipswich and Middlesbrough might turn into prime Barca and Brazil’? 🤣

The threshold for second place is currently 83 points apparently.
I'd say that's about right.

Ipswich would have to get 5 wins in 9 to get there and they are playing Boro and Millwall.

Boro need to win 4 and draw 1 in 8 playing Ipswich Millwall and being in shit form.

Millwall would need to 5 win in 8 playing Ipswich and Boro.

We however, need two wins in 8 to get that and we have a far superior goal difference. We also have Wednesday still to play.

Might get more twitchy as Swansea looks a tough fixture if we're missing Wright, Rudoni and Thomas!
Think we coast home after that though.

Now reckon draws in all those would suit us.
And as I said a few games ago, if you can find a way to make this a certainty, I'd be all over this.😍

Means Typical Boro can't rear it's head against Sheff Wed, so our season essentially becomes a 5 game other teams shootout for the autos with Ipswich and Millwall with us having a head start and not a frigging Hoodoo in sight.

Box it off mate, pretty please.

So looking at table we are 9 points ahead of Ipswich and Millwall with better GD, that means we can effectively win 3 less games than them and stay ahead of them.

So if Millwall win 6/8 , we only need 3 wins to stay ahead of them

Ipswich have the game in hand but there fixtures look tough, they have Millwall, Birmingham, Boro, Norwich and Southampton still to play. If they win 7/9 we need 4 wins to stay ahead of them.

Boro, we are 7 points ahead so we can win 2 less than them and stay ahead of them, so if Boro win 6/8 we need to win 4.

Got a Juninho-Ravanelli-Maccarone shrine set up buddy.

The only downside for me apart from the fact that we lost is that Ipswich are the main benefactors. Whilst this was a bit of a foregone conclusion I am still disappointed because I really cannot stand them.
I really do think Norwich will beat them.
