I remember Sheff Utd last year signed players from AI data but couldn’t recall seeing any of them in their squads each week so I just googled them…

Christian Nwachukwu: A winger signed from Bulgarian side Botev Plovdiv in February 2025. 0 games played so far

Jefferson Cáceres: A striker/winger who arrived from FBC Melgar in Peru, also signed in February 2025. Played 0 games and sold to Dunfermline Athletic.

Ehije Ukaki: A winger signed from Botev Plovdiv in the summer of 2025. Played 0 games.

Mihail Polendakov: A teenage right-back signed from Septemvri Sofia in Bulgaria in June 2025. Played 0 games

If an organisation was asking an LLM in 2024 for signings that’s very much no one’s fault but that organisation. Not sure that’s what it was tho.

I haven't said otherwise, it still doesn't mean that politicians haven't been had over by the potential capability of AI

If we get AI the potential is huge. We do not have AI yet but we’re getting a lot closer than I thought we would. But yes politicians have once again been suckered by Silicon Valley hype men who have been suckering politicians since Gates was hawking Windows.

But isn't the potential problem that AI only truly becomes useful when we don't have to check it? In effect it becomes sentient. At which point we're no longer necessary.

If AI ever became sentient in that manner, I think the only possible sensible conclusion it could come to is that there needs to be a reduction in humans. It's what we've done with species that become overpopulated and are causing huge changes to the environment and ecosystem.

If you wrote down all the things we're causing but changed it from humans to rats, or deer, or beavers etc. you know full well the course of action would be to have a cull, but we obviously don't do that because it's our own species. AI would have no such qualms.

Isn't this what's happening now,let alone the competition with us for power water ect, the globe is going to end up like a circuit board, plug in a capacitor here,a resistor there.

Surely there is a lesson to be learned here.
