Looks like Fernandes leaving Southampton for upwards of £40 million, which means they've managed to sell 2 players from one of the worst Prem teams of all time for £80 million+. I swear all you have to do is do a couple of step overs in the Prem and suddenly you're a £40 million player... its completely ridiculous.

I saw yesterday some Chelsea youngster has gone to a German club (Dortmund maybe) for something like £25m. I did the googles on the kid and I think only played something like 8 EPL games.

I hate the saying 'the games gone' but it's truly bonkers the amount clubs are paying for 'average' players.

The game has gone and the Prem is the main reason for that, yet here we all are desperate to get in it. Funny old world.

Tough one, isn't it.

We're all (generally) critical of the Yo Yo clubs or those on Parachute payments yet I'm sore the majority would take a year in the EPL and potential relegation to have the bigger transfers etc.

Something quite romantic about being a non-parachute payment club and doing well in the Championship.

The best you can hope for is yo-yo and hopefully be one of the teams that are in the right place when a more established team eventually shits the bed.

its not just bigger transfers, you always want to be the best you can be. It helps to get into that group of clubs who if possible are likely to win the league if you did come down. At the moment we're hoping the relegated clubs can hash it up or we end up 1 of the 3 teams available in the play offs.

I can't imagine anyone wanting to lose in the play offs or finishing at best 7th in the second division

Fellows and Aziz, that's Southampton's attacking/wide players sorted - hopefully no more sniffing around Rudi

Parachute clubs will go mad for the remainder of the window I imagine. A lot of money burning holes in their pockets and disappointing starts to the season for Ipswich and Southampton especially.

I'm not sure if Leicester can. The others probably will.

I hope Leicester don’t but I’ve seen enough of these clubs come down and plead poverty only to splurge anyway that I don’t trust it anymore.
Think they are trying to get £35m from Palace for El Khanoussi (forgive spelling) Puts Rudoni's value in perspective!

Their sole focus at the minute seems to be to use the window to rid themselves of their high earners and reduce the wage bill rather than bring anyone in.

Pushing PSR to one side, running the club has clearly become unmanageable for King Power who have issues of their own. It is now seemingly being funded by transfer fees received and loans from Macquarie which are leveraged against future parachute and PL payments.

Faes, Kristiansen, Okoli, El Khannouss, and Fatawu are all linked with moves away over the coming days. I'd imagine 2-3 will be gone by deadline day. Daka, Winks and Soumare could also potentially leave as well given they only have a year remaining on their respective deals.

Difficult to say whether replacements will come in, maybe some loans, but I find it difficult to believe they'll be paying big fees similar to Southampton and Ipswich.

Wrexham looking at paying £7.5m for Will Smallbone (injured in pre-season) and yet to play a minute since Will Still took over. The Wrexham tax !!

why do they want more midfielders, all they mostly do is what the ball as the the CB hoofs it over their heads
