With all due respect, this is a loser's mentality. We had it too until Jimmy Hill and now Frank Lampard came and snapped us out of it. You need a top class coach. Money alone will never do it
Finally, a chance to win the greatest prize in English football, nothing can stop it...Not so fast lads, is that some vague Eastern European ArchDuke getting murdered I see? Ooh, what's that shouty little bloke with greasy hair and the shittest tache known to man doing over in Poland? Oops, there we go, have a couple of fucking World Wars to screw that up for you. Nice juicy long ones too so yoir league storming squads are either dead in combat or retired d by the time this shit resumes....To the ridiculous, such as what happened for the playoff final as I said above.
That's a fair comment.Which league were Ipswich in when they did that…?
the prospect of scoring 40That's a fair comment.
But I'd also counter that with saying that it would take that kind of money to prise the likes of Piroe, Vipotnik, etc from Leeds/Swansea. Leeds bought Piroe from Swansea ironically enough and he's not exactly having much success up there. Whereas at Boro he'd be bombarded with starts and chances to reignite his name.
And as well as Piroe there's plenty more examples of such championship transfers over time, the likes of Paul Merson, David Nugent, Patrick Bamford, Ruben Neves, Morgan Rogers, etc over time have all been bought in the championship when still at their level or very rapidly marching towards the peak of their powers.
We offer something different for them. The chance to make themselves legendary, with a ridiculous amount of chances put on a plate for them and the previous incumbents in their role being so underwhelming as to heighten their abilities in the public eye (with the same team feeding them) even more so.
Oh they won't get 40 each, that would be truly ridiculous.the prospect of scoring 40
goals each must be tantilising too
We still have by goals conceded the best defence in the league this year. Our outfield defence is actually right up there.
Keeper I'd agree with you mind. Brynn isn't a bad keeper overall, but he's nowhere near the standard of a top keeper in the championship, such as Rushworth. The last time we had a keeper that good in this league was when we had Darren Randolf and Shay Given who kept us away from relegation battles single handedly with mainly shite outfield players on front of them.
The reason we've failed this season is entirely down to personel in both boxes, not the other 8 or 9 players in between, most of them are top notch.
Throw the absolute kitchen sink at strikers cash wise and we should be a better performing side next year. What lots of sides have shown us is that every other player on the pitch can't do a great deal to affect results compared to a guy who can just bury it in the onion bag.
that youtube football nerd has never seen a tactic he doesn't think is brilliant

be funny as fuck if they sign a striker because they will realise they aren't that good anywaythe prospect of scoring 40

oh give it fucking restOh they won't get 40 each, that would be truly ridiculous.
The main man possibly with our service and him staying injury free for the whole season, (the latter of course being a big IF in a side with our injury record), but his number 2 would probably get around 12 (though I'd still be absolutely over the moon with them getting around 27 and 24 respectively)
Tbh that would be more than enough I suspect with the goals coming from our midfield.
A very long way of saying pass and move eh

Oh. It's you again.be funny as fuck if they sign a striker because they will realise they aren't that good anyway
Never gets old - hahaha!
Saw this on Reddit and thought of you @Ipad Boro …Oh. It's you again.
Spouting some vague largely uninformed opinion again, what a turn up for the books.
All the evidence actually points to us being a very decent side at this level, with the exception of the striking positions and quite possibly goalkeeper, but the latter not to the same extent as the former(s) It's unfortunate in our case that the level of striker at a club's disposal will do more to influence it's results than any other position, but we're coming to terms with it obviously. I'd personally love to know what in depth statistics and metrics you've compiled and consulted over the course of the 40 games of the season to reach your thought out conclusion concerning the rest of our team though, I truly would.
So please, enlighten if you can as to the depths of your analysis.
Failing this, can't you just let the more informed members of your fanbase have a discussion instead? They invariably have better points to make and their jokes are funnier too, whether aimed at us, Ipswich, Leicester, Brum or indeed life in general really.
Never gets old - hahaha!
EDIT; With Whittaker, it's his physicality that's the issue. Aside from him being a confidence player like a lot are, his biggest weakness is his build and overall strength in the tussle. His positioning is usually fairly good and he can have a great shot on him when not being leaned into. But therein lies the rub. Most sides pack the box against us and there's barging grabbing and whatever else going on all over the place, which in Whittaker's case would render him next to useless as a target man up top. His strength is coming in from outside the box, untroubled, and placing it accurately from a greater distance into the net, again when his confidence is high. As an out and out striker he would probably be doomed to failure.Mental you didn’t get a striker in in January tbh.
Obviously I don’t watch you enough and this may be wide of the mark from me but could Whittaker not do a job up top for you? He knows how to put the ball in the back of the net right?
Over the season you deserve to go up in the autos, it would be a real kicker if you end up in the playoffs where it’s a lottery. That being said you can’t take it from Millwall, Alex Neil has done a hell of a job to get them where they are which nobody would have predicted at the start of the season.
See THAT is pisstaking humour.
I think most of the league are grateful you are as entertaining as you are! Really blessed us to be in the same league as youThere's a few sides that have greatly overperformed in comparison to their expectations beforehand. You clearly fit into this bracket as most pre-season expectations of yourselves by pundits and football fans alike would have had you finishing about 5th, so you've greatly exceeded that and are deservedly going up. The average neutral would have probably had us in about 8th or 9th this year before a ball was kicked and certainly nowhere near as entertaining. They'd have probably placed Millwall about 10th so you're correct about Alex Neil's Millwall deserving kudos as well, their team spirit is probably second to none in this league and I include both our sides in that conclusion.
However the biggest congratulations I feel to them ripping up expectations completely, despite them not being a part of the autos picture now outside of a very long shot have to go to Hull. The neutral would have had them rooted in the bottom six, some tipping them to drop to League One, so to be where they are now, under an embargo no less, is nothing short of phenomenal.
Meh, we give you blessings every year, without fail.I think most of the league are grateful you are as entertaining as you are! Really blessed us to be in the same league as you

There was one contributor, an Ipswich fan who does a blog/podcast and he backed Millwall for 3rd place and I’ll be honest, was bemused at.There's a few sides that have greatly overperformed in comparison to their expectations beforehand. We are merely the manifestation of the Hoodoo. You don’t, the hoodoo does
Where's the money coming from? We're only giving you 8m for Hackney.
Ideally you want us and Millwall to go up then to give you close to a guaranteed 12. Under no circumstances do you want an Ipswich/Saints combination. We need you to be promoted so we can at least finish our first season back in the Prem on 6 points.
What’s Castledine been like?Ideally you want us and Millwall to go up then to give you close to a guaranteed 12. Under no circumstances do you want an Ipswich/Saints combination.
However for us and Millwall to do so would somehow have to involve us making an unlikely charge to 2nd with Hackney, Whittaker and Casteldine miraculously recovering too.
As there's honestly more of a chance however unlikely of us doing this AND Millwall winning the playoffs, than there is of us getting anything at those cursed Twin Towers. They may as well be Mount Doom to us.
xxxxWhat’s Castledine been like?
In reality, this season will have no bearing on who has the best chance next year.Ideally you want us and Millwall to go up then to give you close to a guaranteed 12. Under no circumstances do you want an Ipswich/Saints combination.

Anyone who goes up would need significant strengthening, and it would all be down to who does that best.
Just plain old injured, the same as Hackney and Whittaker, so half our midfield out injured. What’s Castledine been like?
